I wouldn't buy them, for one thing the springs are listed (and pictured) as leaf springs, on their website (WTF ), and I wouldn't want to be the guinea pig, when there have been plenty of good experiences with OME.

Don't get them. Who cares about the discount. OME is way better! That's why 90% of 80 owners have them. The cheaper price happiness will wear off rather quickly when you discover how bad Skyjacker is.You'll wish you got OME.

They are easy to install, if you can get a good deal, try them. If you don't like them swap to something else? Report back on your findings, I would like a review on them, maybe they don't have the stink bug?

I agree. Give em' a shot. I have never heard of a lift for the 80 series offered by skyjacker or any other manufacturer. I think downey had a lift, not sure if it's still available.

So you've used them Wrench? Give us your feedback

Or is it because OME is practically the only lift you hear about for 80s?
Seems like they've got the market cornered, except for bigger lifts.
Not that I'm unhappy with my OME in any way whatsoever...

Viva la Stinkbug.

Anybody talk to them? Would be nice to compare the 2.5" spring rates to OME. If they are stiffer...you could add the Bilstien 5100's with shock adapters and maybe have a heavier duty 2.5" kit. Just use OME caster bushings...and run 35's on it.

I have 2.5" Skyjacker coils installed

Just a note that just yesterday (8/30/06) I installed a set of Skyjacker 2.5" lift coils on my 96 LX450. I used the stock shocks and no caster correction. A vast improvement over the slushy sagging stock coils. The job was fairly easy with 2 2ton jack stands and a floor jack. $328 vs. $700 for OME. I'm VERY happy with the results. Here are some photos of the completed job. Any questions feel free to e-mail me @ cassadd@erau.eduView attachment 90815

Come again?? The medium OME lift kit (springs, shocks, caster correction, tool, and steering stabilizer) is about $700. OME coil springs are $148/pair or $296 for four. Maybe I misunderstand your post, did you replace the stock shocks with new or use the stock shocks you had. If that's the case, your deal looks a little better.

So how's the ride stability and handling feel with those springs?

I'm sure $328 does not include shocks, stabalizer, caster correction (+tool). That make a world of difference.
