I think if you paint it a similar color to the body, the aesthetics of it will grow on you faster!
Also, I’d be curious to watch for operating temp changes, with no holes in it to flow where the old “vents” were in the stock bumper. I don’t know if there will be any change in temp, but I wonder about it.
It looks good!
What was that, less than a week?
Strong work man!

I think you made a very nice bumper. Fits with the front of the vehicle. You are very good at design and build. Weld is nice.
It is one of a kind, custom front bumper. 👍

I am hoping to find a close paint match. I have also thought about the cooling thing and will watch it. I will be cutting holes in the bumper for lights and for cooling if I need it, just dont know where or what shape yet. I also will cut a hole for a winch when I finally get one.

If you dont count all the time I've spent thinking about it I figure I have about 35 hours into building the thing so far.

Thanks, its different from the others for sure. My son tells me it looks like I put armor on the old bumper.

Nice job Virgil. This HAS to be the fastest bumper made!!! Obviously, you don't suffer from "Analysis Paralysis" like I do :bang:

Thanks. Really? I felt like it took forever. Too much thinking makes my head hurt. I tell people that I like to work from the neck down.

I guess it turned out pretty good for a first time bumper that wasnt made from drill stem and diamond plate. I'm thinking I'll work my way back with sliders and skid plates next then the rear bumper.

I just weighed everything and I was able to stay under a hundred pounds and it is extremely stout.

is there a provision for a winch that is sure to be coming in the future?

Yes, and no. I am not sure where I will cut the hole in the bumper yet so I am not sure where to add the mount. It will be really simple to weld something in once I get a winch.

If it helps facilitate installation I have an old Warn/Jeep winch mount in my stash.

That would work perfect. I was planning on using some channel iron because I have it, but that would be a lot lighter. What do you want for it?

This will save you a bunch of fabrication.

Nothing.
It will save quite a bit of work. Thank you. If you're going to be at the next breakfast maybe I can pick it up then. I'll buy your breakfast for it.

I like it!

daddy likes!!!!!🆒

It looks great!

Maybe I missed it, but don't forget some tow hooks and/or attachment points. You may need to pull my truck out someday!

Thanks. I have holes drilled in the angle iron mount so I can use a half inch shackle.

I pulled a couple of people out this winter anf was suprised how well my truck did.

Got some lights. Before I cut too many holes I want to ask for opinions.

This is what I have so far.

Does it look ok? I have a single bulb light like the double I have in the picture. Was thinking of mounting it about 2 inches away from the double. Is that too much?

Here it is on the truck.
