@gungriffin @Somebodyelse5 You mean this thing?

Mr. T printed P/N 655A52-0010 on it, but that number (or subset) does not produce any hits.

Only the butterfly-type insert, or a new-style cupholder tray (P/N 55604-60062, ~$125) come up for purchase. The new-style cupholder tray screws onto the shift plate from below, and looks like it's compatible with the early model years.

nope, the one I was looking for expends out, it has two little wings that will spread to hold a smaller container. I may just print one of those if I can get my 3D printer to print ABS for once!

Just ordered these from Amazon. Will post a review after I get them. The previous owner spilled about 20 gallons of coffee on this rig. Underneath the center console is a nightmare. Have lots of cleaning to do...

OxGord Cup Holder Insert for 05-17 Toyota Tacoma (Left & Right Pair) Replaces 66991-04012 & 66992-04012 Front Seat Center Console Liner Amazon product ASIN B071HTNHV9

07-14 FJ. PN: 55616-35010. Worked great in my 99 LC.

Any updates on these?

Is the whole cup holder assembly (with lid) the same size throughout the model years? If, like me, and you have a 99, it might be possible to replace the whole mess. I think the assembly is $125 or so. I might go that route just so I can close the lid and still have the butterfly grippers.

I really don't care for closing the lid on it (mine is not attached to rattles around) and honestly never gets closed. I was thinking of pulling the whole cupholder assembly and working with @BenCC to see if he can create a new version that would go up to the even with the top of the gear shift console and still be deep enough to hold the cup holders out of the FJ Cruiser or 4Runner.

@Ohthetrees has already done this. Check with him.

Looks like @Ohthetrees hasn't been around since august, bummer.

I think this would be a great idea, @BenCC has been making some great things lately (love the switch panel I got from him)!

I have been thinking really hard to make a better holder. The space is limited. There is almost no space under the factory cupholders.

A quick Google search led me right to ih8tmud...lol

The cup holder situation in the 100 series is quite annoying and the 60 and 80 I've owned weren't any better.

With the 60 I bolted some Yeti cup holder things to the floor and called it a day.

With the 80 I didn't do anything, I tried those window ones and just gave up.

With the 100 I am determined to get something that can at least hold a soda can!

I'll probably start a little thread documenting my process and probably make a couple videos.

I am no engineer and have no CAD stills, but I do have some skills...so here's a little sneak peak of what I got going on...

My solution (posted in another post): I bought a 2.75" silicone hose and cut in half, and inserted them into the cup holder space. They fit the spaces pretty good, and also hold my cups tight enough. Good thing is I can also close the lid when I need to.
