I'm doing a 4 in the tree conversion. :grinpimp: I switched the OEM shifter arm to the driver's side. This linkage will go from the OEM arm to the transmission. Gary told me this will work.

You're doing what? And WHAT with your shifter? BTW. I got my radiator, exhaust, headers, fuel pressure regulator, and other misc stuff in yesterday. Gotta love summit.

I'd like to know what you are going to do about the exhaust. I bought these specifically because I wanted to cut off the end and install V band clamps. I think I bought the wrong ones cause the flange is too close to the frame. I'm gonna have to do a little more "cutting" than I wanted. It looks like if it drops down between the back two cyls on the drivers bank that it would fit a lot better. I'll get pics when I get time again.

Finally!!!

So after getting the wrap off and looking everything over I noticed a couple of things right off.

The AC compressor was missing. So I called Tri State and they shipped me one out today.

Not really sure how I'm going to hook up the speed odometer because I'm running an FJ60 adapter/tcase in an 80. So I called Orange45 because he has this setup and I asked him to take a look to see how his is hooked up.

Install starts tomorrow!

School Is in Session!

If figured I was going to learn a lot about what it would take to do this swap. Today I learned that I had the wrong adapter. I have the 4 bolt one instead of the hex bolt pattern. I had ordered the kit before I got the engine. Who would of thought that there would be 2 different bolt patterns. :) I'm going to call AA Monday to return this one for the get the other adapter. Also, my donor vehicle, 04 Avalanche, has it's battery on the drivers side. So I do not need to buy a passenger battery box. I also didn't need the Slee washer bottle relocate kit. Anyone looking for one, PM me because I'm going to move the washer bottle back. Other things I worked on are, got the oil pans switched out, the harness off, the motor mounts on, test fitted the throttle pedal, and figured out where to put the ECM. Here's a pic of what's going in.

at least it was nice of them to give you the power steering hoses un mangled. You want me to make an extra set for you while I'm getting mine done? Do you want to run a cooler on your power steering? I'm not. I'm going to try to get them made this week...

I'm already planning a trip with my wife so I have to get this done.

They gave me the hoses and the cooler. Yes!!! Thank you for offering to get an extra hose made!!! Do you know how much it would cost? I just need a high pressure side right?

Now that I've had chance to see where things are on the engine, I worked on mounting the throttle pedal assembly, throttle controller, and mounting the ECU. I also worked on cleaning up the wires that are not needed.

On the throttle assembly, I used a bolt from where the steering comes through the firewall and then drilled another hole. It only had two.

On the wires from the throttle assembly to the controller, I passed them through a grommet just right of the brake booster. Then used the bolt from the EFI relay to mount it.

Come on Jeff get to work, you have to bring that 80 to the next meeting and is only a couple of week from now.
Is locking really good:beer:

Following up on Post 108. Talked to AA and I needed to order an additional adapter that goes from the tranny, with the hex pattern, to the adapter on the tcase. Ordered it today.

I was confused on something...did you end up getting the AA motor mounts too or from Kirk?

Thanks.

Got them from AA. I buy all my AA parts through 4 Wheel Parts. Our club has a discount with them.
