get anything done this weekend?

I have some power steering fittings on order, so if they work I'll make you a set of hoses for what the cost me, just tell me how much extra hose you want for your p.s. cooler. Like I says, I'm not running a cooler, just expensive ps fluid. I saw it work with my own eyes racing up pikes peak.

Other than a lot of thinking, no. I'm waiting on my adapter that goes from the hex bolt pattern to the tcase adapter. I've figured out a way to adjust the position of the drive line using the stock 80 tranny mount. That way I can move it back a little if needed.

Yea, I'm going to run the stock cooler circuit. So I think I just need a pressure hose, right? I really appreciate you fab'n some hoses. When you figure out the cost, would paypal work?

The "other" adapter came in today. This one converts the 6 hex bolt pattern to the 4 bolt and moves the speed sensor inline with the gear. It's going to be a great weekend!!!

Mock'n Up

Spent the day measuring and then measuring some more. The only real problem is there a 2nd return tube on the PS pump. Not sure what is for but there is a pressure and a return in the back. Anyway that return tube is hitting the steering box. Note in the 3rd pic I have a board running across to see where the hood is going to come down. There is something on top of the intake, I think fuel regulator, that is about 1/2 inch from the board.

That's the purge valve. Just move it and lengthen the lines. Contrary to old school belief you should run evap cause it pulls vapor from the tank. Just use the toyota canister. When someone gets done here first,we will figure out the right way to route it. Wooo hooo on the shaft! Did you have to modify the tailshaft?

Ps. I think I have the same dent in my bumper too...

Wayne, do you mean create another one vent tube? To make this work, I need to cut it off seal it or move the engine over to the passenger side. The engine is already dead center.

On the DS, I have the case sitting where the 80 case was and the 80 rear DS is way short. I took a 60 DS and put it in. It is short too by about 4 inches, but is long enough to connect the case to the axle. I'm using it to make sure the tcase is square with the DS. The tcase front output flange is close to the tranny pan. I'll probably order the AA shaft.

I think that's connects to the Power steering cooler.. You can bend it out of the way so it does not contact the steering box.
I put a piece of cord from front to rear flanges and aligned the TC to match the drive lines...

I may have missed it but what gears are going in the tcase?

IT'S IN!!!

Sunday mi Amigo and I had a fresh perspective on the mock up work we did Saturday. So we retook all the measurements. We noticed the oil pan was directly over the drag link and if this was going to work, the drive line needed to go back a couple of inches. After messaging the firewall, a light came through clouds and a voice sprang out yelling, COOL! Not only were we able to move the whole drive line back, but the oil pan cleared the drag link AND a read drive shaft I had from an FJ60 worked perfect. So after tack welding the mounts in, we pulled everything out to burn in the mounts. Now I'm trying to figure out the exhaust and get the other parts needed. Here are some pics.

The transmission mount was the key player in being flexible on where I can put the whole drive line. I took the FJ80 mount and created one to fit on the FJ60 adapter. When doing the mock up, this was not welded together, I tack welded it after final measurements. I also, took the transmission cross-member and slotted the holes. This allowed me to square the rear drive shaft.

Lookin' Good!!!!:bounce::popcorn:

It is a really good deal and it already has the manifold. (Not affiliated BTW). On another note, I went to EMS Powered for some work today and they were great. They'll be a big help on your exhaust work once you're ready.
