I know we talked about quieting it down some, but I changed my mind, I'm lovin that V-8 growl. The mounts look extremely strong and the exhaust looks like it can take a beating as well. As for the tach; it looks like it was meant to be there. Thanks bro for all the extra effort, it'll be one badass cruiser when it's done. Good luck with that pump!

I am dropping out the tranny as we speak. I cant tell you how or when I can get the pump until it is out, but I knew you would love that sound!! Also the mount was designed so you can add a skid plate for some protection. Still thinking of the big picture in the long run.

Yeah, that sounds great, and if I want to quiet it down later, I'll take care of it then. Will you be able to tell what happened to the pump once you get it out?

I sure will. I would bet that the spline was either cracked from the original collision or it blew out the seal after the upgrade but I will no more by the morning. I am in tear down right now. Sucks but I am glad it happened here and not when you were driving home.

That could have been a bummer! Especially down in the bayou country.......... is that a banjo I hear playing?

NAH you need to worry when they are missing the teeth and have gators strung up for dinner. Then you know you are in the Bayou. Although the banjo would be a nice touch.

I've seen some heavy duty components offered for that pump as well as some rebuilt pumps with the upgraded components installed. Delivery time may be an issue.

What'd I miss? What happened to the tranny?

The pics look great! Nice job, iaintscared! I am majorly envious!

Well the story is after smoking the tires out of the exhaust shop and going about 2 blocks, The tranny said, "NO MAS" and then Meatloaf and Angel came to my rescue with the trailer. And then I pull a line of and no fluid pumping. So the tranny pump is out and I need to pull the tranny and fix it before I can let Scott take it for a nice long drive. But other than that I am very pleased with the outcome.:D

Randi...the exhaust work looks great I like the two pipes at the back.........
Sorry to hear about the tranny trouble.......
I had to stop working on my project due to work reasons but will resume shortly....

Laters,

If nothing else is damaged, this might be an oportunity to upgrade the pump. So, it could turn into a good thing, even though Randy is having to get into the tranny again. But, I've got to hand it to him, he said he would try to break it before I took it on the road back to Florida; in doing so he found a weak point.
That's what its all about and I'm glad he did.

Hey, I don't see the pics!

YOU KILL ME. I will have the damage photos in the morning. One good thing is that I only have 4 bolts to drop out the transfer...No more splitting the case!!

hey its past morning fxxxer!

I had to do some shopping with the kids but it is out. I have some pics but you won't be able to tell but the teeth that engage with the convertor are good but there are pieces laying inside, so the pump casing or retaining ring broke. DAMN when I break it I do it right:grinpimp: First pic inside the convertor. It is OK. Second pic if you look close you can see the pieces in the bottom of the pump.
Last ones are how easy it was to drop.

I will get pic's of the failed pump when I get it tore down.
