I made it home safe and sound guys. No problems (well, one minor problem I'll explain later); the fuel economy looks like around 15 to 16 mpg on the road, I'll know better tomorrow. I didn't want to wake anyone at 1:00 am with a call, but I do want to thank everyone who helped get this done. Of course, iaintscared did a phenominal job and my first impression after barking the tires in second gear, was this thing is going to be fun. I was disapointed not to be able to hang out with everyone, but I had to get on the road for the first leg of the trip home. I made it to Biloxi by 10:45 that night and only had a minor delay with the gas explosion on I-10. I lost $100 at the blackjack tables; (Beau Rivage Casino) and made it to bed at 3:30 am.
I got on the road the next day, (Sunday) at the crack of noon. No probems for about 350 miles until I let the fuel get really low and must have sucked some garbage into my new fuel pump and or filter. I actually thought I was running out of fuel as I was pulling into the gas station. She starting coughing and shut down right there next to the gas pumps. I filled her up and she wouldn't start. Of course I knew who to call,,, Randy. After some quick thinking, we narrowed it to the fuel pump and after a few bangs with the wrench and a few prayers from me, she started and finished the drive without another issue.
The power is fantastic, the sound is very much V-8. I'll be having some fun this week sorting out some small details, but I'm more than happy with this conversion and I've been very impressed with Randy's work and sincere concern in getting me and my cruiser home in one piece.
Thanks bro!
