I'll have some finish photos up this weekend... She is a beast for power! Drives perfect down the road, tracks nicely etc..

Things to do include mounting a steering stabilizer, and going over all bolts to make sure they are all tight... Found that one of my bumper bolts had fallen out and that I had not tightened down any of them, oops...

What did you do to restore the jump seats? I think I may have found some that aren't in too bad of shape, and want to get 'em right (like yours)!

I start with taking the frames and getting them blasted. Then apply a good 2 part primer. Then paint with a 2 part urathane. I go with LIC-40 from Valspar. Its an industrial type paint that lays down nice and is VERY tuff. Which is good for seats etc.

I purchased the new covers from Cruiser Corps (fronts too) and reused the old cushions with some 1 inch foam added in to "enhance" the old cushions. Also added some new straps from Cruisercorps, and repainted (rattle can grey) the twistlocks. Covers were attached with all stainless hardware from ACE. I used #5 screws 3/4" long with a finish washer for that OEM look. The rubber stops were re-coated with a "made for rubber" paint from rustoleum I think.

Thats about it for the seats. About 3 hours of work total over two days. (paint drying etc)

Thanks! I think I'll have to go Cruiser Corps, too; had a line on some on eBay from Proffitt's Cruisers a few days ago, but got outbid in the last few seconds. I see that CC includes screws with their replacement covers, did they not do that for you?

Your 40 looks fantastic!

They did give me screws, but I prefer the stainless. They provide the standard zinc...

Here are a couple shots..

Also installed a hard top side to get it lined up, and make sure the seals would be tight etc. Using some edge guard on the door ways and on the hard top-to-tub lip. Love it...

That piece that looks like it's from the door to the hard top, what's that called? I dont seem to have them on either side.

Also where can can I find the "edge guard" and that foam looking gasket from hardtop top door rail?

Thanks!

looks good!

Thanks for the compliments...

Those gaskets can be found here

FJ40 Seal / Weatherstrip Top Pole Spacer - Pair

The edge guard can be found on ebay for pretty cheap. Like this... Black Moulding Door Edge Guard Molding 25' Roll | eBay

The foam is from NAPA. ACE also sells it. Its not the cheap light stuff, its to seal campers onto pickups. Very heavy nice stuff.

Thanks for info, what's the piece above that's screwed and bolted in?

Is that where the seat belt is supposed to be bolted to on the roll bar bottom? I thought it was to the top on the side.

That pic is of the drivers side upper windshield frame where it bolts to the bow thats above the DS door.

I assume you are asking about the rubber piece on top of the windshield frame. That is this part... FJ40 Seal / Weatherstrip Windshield Top OEM

It seals the top to the top of the WS frame. Keeps the whistles out!
