A little radio delete magic...

I picked up a radio delete plate from Amaurer. It didnt have the tabs as its for his guage kit, SO I figured this might do the trick. And so far its seems ok.

Sorry I dont have a buch of "in the process shots" but there was alot of work that went into getting this stuff done.

Because the weather has been my biggest enemy, I decided to create a paint booth in the basement. Its working great and letting me get back on track...

Awesome, love the color choice.

Got the front clip into paint and clear...

Got all the front clip but the hood into paint and clear. Shooting paint in the basement is good times! :skull:

Came out pretty nice. Will still need a cut and buff tho...

Here's a couple pieces.

Hood will come tomorrow. I can see some light... ;)

Is the new red 78 everything you'd hoped? I'm assuming you bouhgt it sight unseen with it being shipped and all.

It is. I was expecting the rust and I got it. So I knew what I was getting into. But it runs pretty good, and seems to be mostly complete. It even is still sporting the carb cooling fan etc etc...

I am finishing the hood today and getting that mounted along with the headlight buckets and headlights. So this weekend, the front clip should be pretty much complete. The paint still needs to be cut and buffed as well.

Great job so far!! I agree that color is great, mostly because its uncommon. Seems like every cruiser you see is red, blue or yellow...or olive :P
BTW, you don't still have those old wheels and 12.5 tires do ya?

Hey thanks... Nope I gave them to a buddy of mine. And actually one was bad. It went flat about 300 miles into it. Non repairable they say...

I love this color too. The camera really doesn't pick up the green very well. Theres more green to the color. Very classic, and old school but on a 76. Should really pop with the white OEM wagon steelies im going to put on with the BFG 33 x 10.50 Muds.

I almost bought an old cruiser in Oakland, CA once, just because of that Sea-Foam green. And when my wife forced me to paint the guest bathroom a few years back we went for a color that's almost a match :).

Greek - are you becoming a full-time cruiser restoration guy? When do we get detailed info/picts on the red 78?

The paint guy said it looked like a bathroom color too! hrmm...

Check my signature for the thread on the "Red Headed Stepchild". It has a couple pics in there.

As far as being a full time resto guy.. nah, just love to work on these old rigs. I have three now, so this one will go soon, then I'll get on the 69 and get it finished, then it will be the 78's turn. When I sell the 69, I'll buy another one to drive while Im working on the 78. I guess it's a never ending cycle... :D

Eventually, I will build my "dream" cruiser. Completely re-done and stretched 18", plus the interior will have all the creature comforts. That one I will KEEP!

Nice rig... Congrats on the find..... How's the power on the v-8?
