Blue mechanics glue on the bolts holding the wiper covers on, snug them down until the cover bottoms out on the back of the knuckle housing, then a fuzz more, just snug.

Just in case anyone thinks I work in a fancy shop, here's my parts washer setup.

Bummer to read you might miss out on the joe. Nor cal has some blue water streams, maybe you'll get to wet a line there.
Yeah, my kids don't think it would be as fun of a trip to Idaho, we see mountains and rivers everyday! They said a trip to the coast would be a lot better.

I can't argue much about it, I'll be taking a week in the backcountry again floating some bucket list water again in July.

Did you just sneak some tech into the 40 section?
I should have posted that stuff in one of the useless chat threads!

Agreed, do we have an arts and crafts or artisanal wrenching thread in chat? Your updates are supposed to be about beer, fishing, skiing….

Repeat as necessary, at least twice just to verify. Both inches and mm.

Very nicely done..... It's distracting sometimes to stop in the middle, grab your camera/phone. Shoot pics and repeat. Thanks for posting this up. .:beer::beer:👈 2 thumbs up for the parts washer.

I though you brought up a good point earlier. Take it on with a low and slow approach, take it on methodically, take on a cold snack and step back. Excellent score on the "Rack". I should have snagged one from Mark @65swb45 when they were just decorations cluttering up his shop.

Hey, don't forget hunting...

Most of those pics were staged, taken after the sequence of work was completed. I found it was a little easier to do it that way with grease covered gloves and such.

I don't want people thinking life is all peachy around here! Usually a little nasty work like a knuckle job scares the weak away!

Might want to delve into the Brake/Hazard/Turn Signal Circuit next.

:rofl:LMAO...Yep, phones a little hard to handle when it's covered in bearing grease.

Started to prep the other knuckle for measurements and reassembly.

Polished up the ball.

Set the outer races.

What are you using to set your races? Bearing seater or something a little more "creative"?

Beer cans, blocks of wood, brass drift, old race, 4lb sledge, whatever is within arms reach.

Actually, either the brass drift or a small block of oak.

Shut the front door! Yeah, this is nonsense... You have me believing I can pull this s***-show off myself!

Really appreciate you taking the time to document this.
