I got a few packages in the mail this week, a passenger side floor pan for the fueal tank area, a carb hat from a 3F, and a bright shiny rebuilt carb and dizzy from Jim. The carb and dizzy look, feel, and smell like 100% awesomeness.

We spent the last weekend on a little tour of Williamsburg, Va and Busch Gardens, they have everything decorated for Christmas. Kids loved it and we got to explore Jamestown and Colonial Williamsburg for a while. I-95 SUCKS. Nothing like some backroads in northern Virginia though.

I got the tub stripped down tonight, rollbar, seats, and seat frames all pulled out. Put all but 2 of the body mounts bolted back down, hoping to cut out the last of the rot from the tub throughout the next week or so.

Ugh What I would do for one of those homes to retire in... great pics!!

It is definitely a very interesting place, more history than a man could ever cover, just not my slice of pie. Send me to the mountains. The pics were shot from my phone just walking around. A skilled photographer would have a field day there, so much to frame, so much to shoot, just the craftsmanship alone would have a man occupied all day.

there needs to be a multi like button for pics like that.

That is a nice 10 miles back from the road in Yellowstone. HUGE cutthroat trout.

Think you are still on track for a spring roll out?

It is still my goal, if I can finish ALL the metal work and get the tub out of the way. Then I can finish the mechanical stuff on the chassis before the winter breaks and I should be good. At that point I should be ready to color it and reassemble.

Hopefully.

somewhere around this time last year.

I have a plan to try and utilize an air cleaner housing from either a 62 or an 80 series, I despise the big air cleaner that mounts on top of the valve cover. I have an air cleaner from a 1F that I may use in one form or another, I just need to fool around with some things to see what I can work with. I decided to stay with my ROW 2F carb instead of using a 1F carb and the 1F air cleaner. Now I get to fool around an make something interesting. Maybe use a can from an 80 series mounted on the 1F bracket, maybe a can mounted on a fender, I have a carb hat from a 3F to get a 90 turned and pointed wherever I need.

In the meantime I am going to try to cut out the passenger side floor pan this weekend, if I can get some spare time. I probably need to re-up on the beer supply for this one.

I'm sure whatever you come up with will look great and work just as good.

I will be watching trying to learn something and get some ideas.

I don't know if you want to get any ideas from me! Odds are you will get in trouble!

The hard part is that I want to keep everything I can as OEM looking as I can, Toyota parts wherever I can even if they are from different models and years. I do not like generic universal parts, they definitely don't look right on a FJ40.

I found this in the back seat of my Jeep earlier this week.

Wow, there really IS a Santa Clause. Cheers!

Box o' parts showed up yesterday, I think. A transfer case gasket kit, new bolts for the roll bar, and new bolts for the seat brackets. Definitely more bolts to come, the tranny tunnel will get shiny hardware all the way around, as well as the hardtop components.

New Belgium brewery has their winter Porter out now, NB Portage, I guess everyone else got the word. 3 stores yesterday and 3 strikes. Nowhere to be found last night.
