DAMN!! Gonna lose another cruiserhead to the north west. Just don't sell your place to a Jeep owner.

AAAWWWWW man, the hell of it is I am looking to trade my 4Runner for a newer Jeep Grand Cherokee! That 4Runner just is not big enough for a full size adult.

cherokees are total piles of crap man!!!
t

Come on man! I have been driving my 2004 for the last 12 years, it has right at 230k miles on it right now and is still my daily driver. I feel it is a ton more comfortable than my 2008 4runner as a daily driver. The 4runner feels more stout on the road and is probably more capable off of the pavement.

I spend more time on asphalt than dirt. I also have a FJ40 and a diesel powered Dodge dually tow rig, so my Grand Cherokee doesn't need to leave the asphalt.

I know we like to bash Jeeps here but I have no qualms with them.

It has nothing to do with it being a jeep man haha. I have a good friend with a 3 year old one and its a total POS. This is the second one he got they bought his other one back due to all the issues. Not sure what year you wanna upgrade to but thats just my .02 on the newer ones haha!

We are looking at a newer model, 2013 or better. I am aware that some vehicles have known problems, Jeep has had a problem with transmissions for 20 years now, it is a parent company problem, Chrysler, whoever makes their tranny.

I can't justify paying the price for a comparable Land Cruiser, the maintenance on them alone would cost more than I have dropped in my GC over the last 12 years.

How do you like the AC? I have a chance to pick up a used one tomorrow and I think I can get a pretty good deal on it.

Ah, couldn't quite make out the Tpiece at the bottom. I'm going to be doing a workshop in the new year and with the humidity here at the coast I know I will have to take precautions above and beyond. I'm going to shamelessly copy your plan.

Jeeps... I've been a fan all my life. My old 2000 WJ with 5 cylinder MV diesel engine was driven hard and put away wet for 15yrs. Went all over Africa, roads or no roads in great comfort and no problems apart from those the dealership's poor workmanship caused. Average fuel consumption was slightly less than 10km per litre during hard work and city and 9.3 on the open road. Great on gravel and off road. 600 000km when sold. I miss it everyday.

The current WK - 3L V6 Mercedes Benz turbo diesel and 6 speed MB box, rock hard IFS and even harder MB seats - is fast and a great towing vehicle but uncomfortable on anything but highway and limited ground clearance. Consumption runs at about 11 and 12. Gearbox had to be rebuilt @ 160 000km. 100 000km is how long the fluid lasts, but nobody tells you that and the dealership has no maintenance schedule.

If I could get a new WJ I would not hesitate. That said, on highway the WK is great.

In short it is bad ass. 80 gal is a beast over the 60.

I will post more tomorrow.

The one I'm looking at is a 80 gallon 7.5hp. Looks just like the one you got although I don't know how old it is. The guy who owned it passed away and they are auctioning off all his old farm equipment off and a few other things.

WOW if that thing is in good condition it will be a serious score!

I installed a 60 gal single stage compressor at work a couple days after installing my 80 gal two stage. They were night and day in the rate they filled. Mine is the 5 hp motor, that 7.5 hp will be a beast! It should fill extremely fast and have a high cfm flow.
I think the 7.5 hp sells for around $2K retail.

No shame at all in copying that plan, I stole the idea from the Internet!

Your water separator is a smaller, and much better looking, version of what we used one place where I worked 20 years ago. We had no heat in that building, the big doors were usually open and fork lifts went in and out several times a day. Winters here put a lot of moisture in the air, and we had a lot of water problems in the air guns. The air line was sent straight up to the ceiling and back almost to the floor and into a small air tank before going out to be used. The main compressor and the small tank had the collected water drained every day, which was usually a lot. After that mod we had almost no water in the compressed air at the guns.

Had a couple screws that were stripped for the headlight buckets, a little drill action and an eaze out and they are all apart now.

Front and rear seats, the front ones I had bolted in place so I could drill the holes in the floor pan for the drivers side. The rear fold and tumble is mocked in place, holes are marked, now I need to fab up some reinforcement underneath.

I also spent some time sorting a coffee can full of fasteners from my parts rig. There are a lot of good bolts there I just needed to organize them so I could find them when I need them!

@Honger that was the view from my campsite.
