out of curiosity, what are you coating? SEM makes a coating that is a spray can with a long tube - once you've done the inside work, you insert the hose and spray down with the best anti-corrosion stuff (the green stuff that kills 10 polar bears, two penguins, and two useless seal babies with every use).

The stuff I am using right now is just the weld through primer, in the spots that flanges meet I am shooting it. I have been looking for something suitable to shoot inside the main beam before I close the end up. I will look into the SEM stuff with the tube.

Save the baby seals!!!

They may be useless to you, but what about the other seals that might have been influenced by those baby seals, had they only been allowed to live long enough to fully form their own belief systems?!?

Many of the huge issues, facing our world today, might have been mitigated somewhat, had we only had an opportunity to consider the views of the baby seals we have massacred along the way.

Finished the floor pan, fixed the flange at the front of the rear tub where it meets the outer rocker skin, and tacked the outer rocker in place. I marked the inner rocker where it needs some trimming, I'll take care of that tomorrow after work, as well as cutting a few small patches for the rear of the tub near the barn doors.

hey, remember that time you cut a 40 in half and welded in new floor and rocker pieces? That was a good time!!

:lol::beer:

Coming together nice.

Look at this phase of the build as the "EXTREMELY difficult Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 Lego kit for adults". And just wait....block sanding is even more fun. I usually start talking to myself before I lay down my sealer getting ready for paint.

Believe me, I am not looking forward to that part. I don't mind turning wrenches, welding, or cutting. When it comes to smoothing this thing out and making it look straight I am worried that I will wind up trying to make it TOO nice, I have a problem sometimes.

As the metal work goes, I was making a list of the remaining work to be done.

1- weld in the inner rocker (I trimmed it, fit it, and primed the inside of both rockers last night.)
2- 2 small 1.5"X4" patches near the rear sill/quarter area
3- the 2 body mounts right behind the main beam, there is a fair amount of work that needs to be done there.
4- drill and mount the rear bed support brackets.

Nothing that couldn't be done in a weekend. Then time to clean it up and get ready to prime!

What are you using to cut/trim the metal? Our 72 is going to proceed in my garage and I do not have air.

I know a guy in West Virginia that only has one tooth on top and one one the bottom, it is like a metal shear.

Sounds like a precision piece of equipment.

I use a cut off wheel on my grinder. I'll take a pic tomorrow night.

A scratch awl to mark all my lines and cold beer to make my hand steady.

Yeah, I understand that. I may have had 24 in my sill and quarters. Maybe.

And that is a home garage, basic tools, drinking beer.
