Considering getting an import 60 series.

anybody have an experience, thoughts, recommendations...?

possibly have my american fj60 used for parts.
does the engine, body etc, match up at all?

cheers

Lots of parts match up. Most actually.

As someone who daily drives a JDM FJ61, and has fixed a lot of things on it, here's a non exhaustive list of thing I've come across:

Throttle, hand throttle, and choke cables are different
Clutch master is different
Body tub is different and won't fit retractable passenger seat belts
Different alternator location
Different steering box
No sway bars
No smog equipment/less vac lines
Windshield wipers

There's probably more, but that's what I can think of right now.

24v systems potentially as well on the JDM.

My DD is a JDM HJ61 with the 12H-T and it is AWESOME!! My wife also has a JDM BJ71 she drives a couple times a week. We love them!! The RHD and 24 volt stuff is easy to get used to and parts are becoming easier to get a hold of. Steve at Land Cruisers Direct is the man to get a hold of if you are thinking of importing. Any questions or concerns let me know if I can help!
