Guys, I’m looking for a 3-row aluminum radiator for my 1991 FJ80 with the 3FE motor. I’ve ordered two different ones and both orders were canceled due to backorders. Does anyone have any ins on where I can actually get one that isn’t a knockoff amazon special? Or are those ones ok? I don’t want to put junk on my rig. I want one for the extra cooling capability for my hot AZ climate. But no dice in finding one. Please help if you can. Budget under $1000.

Feedback from 3FE gurus as of late is that the 2 row cools better than the 3 row and the thinner core is better for fan clearance if you actually get twisted up offroad. The 2/3 row is a balance of flow rate vs fluid time in the core.

Based on that, I got the Liland 2 row to go on this weekend to replace the cracked original rad in my 91. Rockauto has the best prices.

Trying to find one with a dual electric fan setup and that includes a trans cooler. I found one from griffin but of course no transcooler.
There is no "off the shelf" radiator for the 80s with elec fans and shroud setup. With that said, a modified fan clutch will be plenty to cool our rigs. If you have a 1FZ-FE, there is no reasons to ditch your fan clutch for elec. fans, TYC and OE radiators are available unlike the 3F-E.

I have the 3FE motor. I bought the green mod fan clutch from Redline Landcruisers, but I want to purchase an aluminum radiator and was recommended I have a custom one made with dual electric fans. But to have a custom one made its like $2000, plus fan controller of $250.

Not sure what to do. Everything else is brand new within the thermostat housing, all sensors, everything. I thought maybe in our 125 degree heat I should have something better.

The only reason i went with dual electric fans setup was the fact that i have had 2 blown alum. aftermarket radiator twice on the trail. Most people not aware of the fact that the aftermarket alum. radiator is 1" thicker than factory unit, meaning if you are running factory fan clutch, the fan is 1" closer to the back of the radiator with less tolerance. The 1" diff. is enough to cause the fan to contact with the back of the end tank during hard flexes. IMO, if you are playing on rocks a lot. this could become an issue at some point. It definitely happened to me twice. Once on a Ron Davis unit, and the 2nd time on a Liland unit on the Rubicon. I have since upgraded to dual electric fans w. PWM fan controller just for that specific reason. Going elec. fans setup also means you will need to upgrade your factory charging system and wiring for the additional load demand as well.
