I realize this is not 4WD related but I want to replace all the old drafty and worn out windows in my home. Has anyone in the Triad had any good experience with any replacement window companies? What I have seen so far leaves a lot to be desired.

And I'm Michelle Canelli... and you have our word on it.....

Huh? What Michelle? What do we have your word on? And does your husband look any less excited to be there? Jesus... local cable advertising is so weak it's hilarious....

That said - I wouldn't use these guys. They're trying to put across the 'we're locals' vibe, but I bet those windows are chinese trash

Ryan Barnard is a pella sales rep in their resto/used homes division. If you are interested in pella i bet he could recomend one of their approved contractors.

Window World - I actually called them last year to have one window replaced. The salesman just called and did not come by to measure. By the time he finished adding up ALL the charges, including the $150 documentation fee, the small kitchen window was over $500.

@jfz80 Forgot about Ryan. How do I contact him? Haven't seen him around in a long time.

We replaced all of our windows several years ago and got them from Window Man. We had a local installer put them in and as it turns out the salesperson from Window Man was a lady. We've had zero problems with them.

Bought from Champion. The sales rep was low pressure and had a wealth of knowledge and the price was higher than I had budgeted for but the added extra features built in to the windows made it worthwhile. Expect to see them installed in June.

I hope you like them, David. We bought new windows in 2016 from Apex Energy Solutions (I didn't mention them here because they aren't local to you) to replace our original 1970 windows. They were very nice for the era but the new ones are clearly so much better. No more drafts or cold spots in a room. They also keep out noise so much better. Now I don't hear my neighbor drive up his gravel driveway at all hours. Changed the look of the house for the better, too.

Several years ago I called Mr. Rogers Windows to quote new windows for the house we were in at the time. Mr. Rogers used Anderson Woodwright replacement windows exclusively. They quoted something like $20k to do my windows. I couldn't swing it. I called an Anderson window dealer here in Charlotte and, using Mr. Rogers' quote, got a materials quote from the dealer for what just the windows would cost. The price for materials was $7,500 or so. That sounded a whole lot better! I visited the showroom and had the salesman and one of their installers step me through the process of replacing the windows myself. Turns out it was cake! I was amazed at how easy Anderson made the replacement windows to install. Pry the old window out and leave the frame and sash in place. Four screws per window is all that holds them in. Each window comes with backer rod insulation to stuff in the cracks. The outer trim just snaps on and looks perfect. I did the whole house myself over a couple of weekends (+-16 windows). My house was a ranch and all the windows were accessible from ground level or from a small step ladder. I loved those Anderson windows. I wish I had them at the house we are in now.
