is it possible for you to post a few more pictures of the way the compressor sits. Do you have room to open the fuse box and how close is it to the brake reservoir? I know it fits, you show that, just would like to see how close it is to other stuff.

Thanks
Bruce

Will do, Bruce. For now I'll say that yes I can open the fuse box. It sits JUST behind the box. Maybe 1/2" of space.

The compressor itself doesn't contact the reservoir, but the wires do put a little pressure on the hard lines. I have the compressor moved as far forward as possible in order to minimize that contact.

I owe you a picture. I'll get it for you tomorrow, promise =)

Went out yesterday to test out the new suspension do some camping with friends.

Ended up learning (very quickly) how different the GX is from my old 4Runner as about 100 yards into the trail I chose a line that would have been just fine in my wider, lower, and lower CoG 4Runner and about ended up on my passenger side. Unfortunately I also learned how heavy my driver's door is when you're lifting it nearly straight up, and decided to just trust the guy behind me on how to back up out of the predicament I had gotten myself into.

Backed out, gathered my pride, and took a smarter line. =p

The rest of the trail was very simple, but got pretty tight in some spots. The brand new Tacoma and F150 with us did not like that.

The camping was excellent, the beer was cold, and the company was great. Can't beat that.

Being up front, and moving a bit more quickly than everyone else gave me some time to take pictures while I waited for the others to catch up every now and again.

And found this old motorcycle out there at the bottom of a steep hill climb. While going up that same hill climb in 4lo my traction control kicked on, which I didn't think we supposed to happen. I still made it up without issue, but the traction control noise and flashing light was pretty discomforting.

As we all know, photos always do obstacles justice. Not.

This corner would have been fine with a bit of speed coming UP but going down with no real room for speed, us top heavy guys we getting pretty tippy. Decided to play it safe and straddle the inside edge and ride it down.

Got up pretty high!

Do you happen to remember which wires you tapped into for the light (blue/white stripe) and ignition (red/yellow stripe)?

I'm not sure what you're talking about. You mean for the light in my locker switch? Or the compressor switch? Something else?

Nice pics! So you were in 4Lo with the diff locked/RSCA turned off and it still beeped at you?
I'm starting to think it was just the a-trac working... I just thought it was traction control because (what I perceived as) the traction control light was flashing as it occurred. There was no beeping, just the sound of what sounded like ABS grinding/chattering whatever that noise sounds like.

I unplugged the RSCA light until my 07+ switch panel comes in. I put my locker switch in its spot. So, that wasn't pressed obviously. I did have the center diff locker though (that light, and VSC off light were on).

the wires are in the ARB harness and I believe hook up to the switch

I didn't want it to be lit unless engaged, so I did not connect the blue/white wire. The red/yellow wire (that gives light when the compressor is on) I used an add-a-circuit on the fuse for the rear washer.

Here are those pictures you requested. I realize that I may have misled you on the fitment- it wasn't my intent. However, both fuse boxes are indeed accessible with compressor installed, which I think was your main concern. The small one is actually under the compressor, but you can still reach a finger under there, pop it open, and slide the cover off to access those relays. The bigger fuse box is totally accessible.

Let me know if I can help with anything else!

Thank You very much

Been quietly using and abusing the ol' GX.

Went to NW Overland Rally back in June and went on a trail run with some friends to avoid the huge crowds on the organized runs.

Easy trail when it's dry, but was hell after a recent rain. Aired down to 15psi and popped a bead on the front passenger wheel/tire going up a muddy hill. In addition to this, my front skid plate fell off, broke a Tred pro (warrantied with no issues), and bent a rear lower control arm on a root. Good day, I suppose.

Due to the bent arm, I ordered up some Metal Tech lowers- something I didn't want, but am glad to have. They're pretty slick.

Currently working on a swing arm to get my spare tire out of the rear cargo area. Using the 4x4 labs "kit", but have no idea how to weld, so it's slow going finding friends that want to drink and mess with it. The tire carrier is done, "just" need to do the swing arm assembly now. Cannot wait.

Not much else going on. Here is a copied post from the photo thread... Also, I updated my original post with what I THINK are all of my current mods.

Went and looked at the eclipse...

Took some pictures of suspension stuff a few weeks back..

And my wife drove us up to Gallagher Head Lake a couple weeks before that... Didn't even have to move boulders out of the trail like the group the came up a couple weeks after.

Man I love these wheels...

-XenonDepot Xtreme HID Kit (sending the Morimoto kit back after many, many more headaches after the warrantied bulb)

How are these working out for you? I need replacements with a significantly wider and longer throw - I'm tired of barely seeing elk/deer on the side of the road at night via my stock bulbs.

Far superior to stock. Haven't had a single issue since switching from the Moriomoto kit to these.

If you want real performance you could replace the fogged factory lens with a clear lens. That's my next step, I just need a spare headlight to play with...

I have this same kit and have no issues other than a slight flickering when I go over bumps.

I have a question about your RCI skids? Are they standard 03- 09 4 runner skids with a v8 and work with KDSS just fine or did you have to modifey them ? I just picked up a GX 470 sport package and need skids.

The front is from a 5th gen 4Runner with kdss. Rest are 03-09 v8 4Runner skids.

Did you have to modifey the front 5 gen skid or did it bolt right up ?

It bolts up, but there are no cutouts to mount the power steering or trans cooler lines (I didn't care- not sure which they are) that are bolted to that crossmember. 4th gen skids have notches for them.

How do you like the RCI skids would you change anything with them? Steel VS aluminum

I like them. Mine are aluminum as I don't do the whole rock crawling thing. Had a weld break and they sent me a new one-with some extra bracing- no questions asked.
