A journey with my boys- The Elf Barn as I call it.

Clear. Ignore the dust/dirt on roof. These are reflections of dust on the plastic sheet outside the temporary booth.

Hangin up dem boots while clear cures. Then wet sand, buff, and assemble.

I love that the Elf Barn is beyond earshot of media and Wifii. Old school. @Cowboy45 reads on the patio.

Looks like that turned out great man! Do you wet down the floor to minimize dust? I would think spraying down low on the rockers and such would kick up a bunch of debris....?

We did initially. But after a heavy coat of clear, dust stays put.

We pulled the pony out to get some UV curing on the clear.

@Cowboy45 and @SipLife helped code the pain booth poles and tear it down for stowaway for later use on Old Landy (next project)

We washed the booth area and @Cowboy45 tore down the 2H to the empty block for micing and rebuild. This 2H will be rebuilt for Old Landy as a 2HT. He will document more on his Old Landy thread. It was great to tear into an engine. The first time the elfs have done this.

Got a scenery upgrade at the Elf Barn. Our front neighbor penned their horses finally. Elves may get a lesson or two in horse grooming in exchange for some riding lessons.

@SipLife got a cruiser project. Waiting it’s turn after the Pony. He started a thread found here. We are officially a cruiser family.

Heads to the barn tomorrow.

We are keeping this one in all it’s patina glory. Making it a good runner.

Her name is Bluebonnet :)

He also got an Aisin fan clutch worth of Mustang parts to finish assembly. Wish Cruiser parts were this cheap. Perhaps not. Most were from China and Taiwan.

We got bluebonnet into the barn to get it out of the weather. We will do some musical chairs this weekend to get her in place where my brown HJ60 sits. We will drive the HJ60 while we knock out Old Landy and Bluebonnet. The original plan and first project was to finnish up the HJ60. Dad gets last priority in this barn😩. A week of Pony panel assembly, wet sand, polish this weekend. Perhaps some trim install.

I had an epiphany on why they are called Land Cruisers. You need a lot of LAND to store them. 🤪

This weekend was another milestone. Finally getting real estate back in the barn. All the Mustang panels went back on. Fitting and adjusting took its time. Taping the edges to prevent paint damage worked well. The whole family got into it. @SipLife did a great job! He has the eye for detail which is needed at this stage. @Cowboy45 also helped and observed as Old Landy will need this next.

Once we got the last panel on, it suddenly rained heavily with hail!!!! We had to rush and get the Mustang in the barn before any damage! Yikes! It was a close call.

Once the storm passed the whole family got into wet sanding the Mustang. @SipLife and @cowgirl40 got their first lesson in wet sanding. 1500 grit. They were pros in less than an hour. We got roof, hood, B billar sails done this weekend. Plan is to get the rest done next weekend.
