Awesome product, good quality build and materials, takes me about 15 mins to set the boat up.

A million years ago I ran the factory for a now defuct competitor, Pack Boat. More quiet than a 'tinny' and have built in beer cozies AKA floatation foam. We sold most of ours to fly in fishing guys, They work really well on the struts of a floatplane

Nice little boats. I have thought about one of those.

i've just been looking into these too. i joined the yahoo group and everyone just seem to love them - even a cruiser guy here at work said his dad has one and loves it.

been thinking about getting one for fishing and diving in baja. let us know how you like it and any negatives you come up with.

i saw that on afv some guy fell and it folded up on him, looked staged.
cool

:D

Unfolding the boat when it's new or when it's cold can be fun.

i've got their current pricing in front of me that was sent by mail:

8" - 1249
10" - 1399
12" - 1499
14" - 1765

all in USD.

$50 delivery if ordered before 6/19/06.

4HP Nissan outboard 4 stroke for $1045

Great prices - go for it!

On the 12' I have a 4 stroke 6hp mercury (tohatsu/nissan) with which I clocked 24kph on the gps. In a 12' boat that felt very fast.

The merc is a great OB, very reliable.

6hp Merc/nissan/tohatsu are the same OB.

sounds like a great deal. How does the boat handle in rough water?

Very good for a 12' boat. Been out in 4' swells on Kootenay Lake and survived, but not recommended.

Gold Boy,

If you interested there are a bunch on Ebay right now. Gold Boy have you thought about installing the lightweight seat on a say a 4" stand for fishing? Do you think the way the seat is made it would hold up?

Thanks to Gold Boy's help on the recent thread about portable boats, I ordered and just recently received my Porta-Bote! Very very very cool product. The wifey and I took the thing to the yard and practiced opening and closing it. The first time looked like two monkeys with footballs if ya know what I mean! But then we, uhh, actually SHE suggested we read the instructions and VIOLA the thing was so simple to open and close.  We then practiced getting the goofy pooch in and out. Apparently this thing is more stable in the water than almost any available 12' due to the shape of the hull and the flexibility of the hull. It is approved and used by several Coast Guards including US and JPN. We cant wait to take the thing out! Thanks again GB for all the advice, I oughta go update that other thread too.

Well geeeee, thanx turbocruiser...
