Im still trying to decide on what Im gonna do for a lift. So far the ome 850/n73 front and 860/n74e rear combo seems like it would get me where I want to be.

Going to have to pull the trigger soon cause its driving me nuts how low she sits now.

The cruiser and Taco took a back seat to a ............... Mazda yesterday.

We slapped a winch bumper together for my buddy Randy. Turned out to be a tube/plate hybrid type deal. We had already built the winch box and just added the wings yesterday. They consist of 3 tubes that come off the side of the winch box and are joined together at the ends w a piece of 1/4. Plated w 1/8 on top and front.

I like the way it turned out.

Still need to work on the mounts and make them look a little better but otherwise we just have to bend up a stinger to finish it off.

This goddam cruiser is gonna clean me out man. Found a mint tank w filler pipes, fuel pump and straps for 300 from a fellow mudder. Also very close to pulling the trigger and calling IPOR and finally ordering a lift.

Nope the 80 sat that trip out. It still needs said lift and some xfer protection before it goes out. I was piloting the silver xcab taco.

Thanks to the money sucking LC I own Im out 2 g's.....

At least shell be happy with a new gas tank/filler pipes/fuel pump combo, an ome heavy front/med rear setup, and an IPOR xmember/skid.

Freaking demanding these cruisers.

Old gas tank? The filler pipes are rotten to hell and it leaks while filling or if you fill till the pump clicks and theres gas in the filler pipe. Drips right onto the rear stabilizer. Could have just got the pipes for 75$ from a fellow mudder but he offered me the tank/pump/filler pipes/straps for 300 and I couldnt refuse. Especially since they dont look to have ever seen salt.

Im gonna change the pipes and save the tank and pump just in case.

I started on a front diff guard yesterday similar to the trail gear one. I made a template using cardboard then used 1/4" hardened steel for the guard. No pics yet since it looks like ass right now but if all goes well it should fit and protect the pumpkin nicely.

I also found a way to "bend" the hardened steel Ive been using that isnt a pain. Before I would cut a line with a grinder then bend. The steel would usually snap which was a pain. Yesterday I tried "scoring" the steel with the plasma (quick pass penetrating roughly 1/16") then while it was still warm I slowly bent it in the vice. Worked great.

We got the new suspension installed today without too many problems. Took us 5 hours start to finish including the time it took to snap off 2 trans x member bolts...

We did the rear end all at once and used Slee's instructions for the most part. We did not disco the rear brake bracket and we managed to get the tops of the rear shocks out/in without removing the plates that bolt to the coil buckets. To do the rear shocks I held a ratchet on the top bolt using an extension pipe while Peetie turned the shock shafts w a pipe wrench. Not much room but better than snapping the 4 bolts that hold those stupid plates up there.

The front was done one side at a time with a fully disco'd sway bar and unbolted ps brake line bracket.

We did break the 2 rear sway bar bracket bolts at the frame on the ds side so its welded to the frame now lol. That was the only real pain, the bottom rear shock bolts came out like butter.

The ride is firm but freaking great compared to the stock, worn out junk. Ended up getting 3" and a bit in the front and 2.5" rear and its still got a mean 80 rake even though I went with heavies in the front and meds in the rear.

Ill get some pics up tomorrow.
