not to be a lazy a******.... but kinda. the 5.3 is wired, chevy things are doing chevy things. is there a diagram of ih1 and ih2 that shows me what is what so I can start thinning my Toyota harness. that way my lockers and gauges can do Toyota things?
Open the EWD pdf, "ctrl f" for find, search for IH1 and write down each wire colour and designation.

Thank you so much, that helps a ton. I have the factory manual and it's got nothing quiet like that... at least not that I could find.
Make sure you have the right year on the ewd. Also. I suggest you get one of these.

It might be one of the best tools out there.

You've got to print them out in color and tape the pages together in long sheets to work with. Also print out the pages that show the pin outs of each connector.

From the 1994 FZJ80 EWD, this is the IH1 pinout. I've made everything I would consider essential in bold, I don't know what harness you're running though.

From 5:58 you get to see a good view of the harness before and after thinning out.

The manual is free on this site. Recommend downloading and just printing the EWD (electrical wiring diagrams). It will take some time to gain familiarity with them. Take your time. Print out the following systems, combination meters (cluster), transmission control, engine control, center differential, cruise control, power distribution, power supply. That’s about it. I’ve been meaning to put a video together on how I did mine. Issue is, every swap might be different. Model years, engine variants, gm harness or aftermarket. A lot of variables.

I notice on IH2 you don't use the fuel pump wiring. are you bypassing the factory wiring and going directly from your gm harness to the pump? I bought a standalone ls swap harness that has wires to go to the fuel pump and that is kinda what I was thinking about doing. sorry for all the questions, wiring just melts my brain.

Thanks, hopefully it gives someone an idea of where to start, and if this is something they think they can do or not. Be curious to know how different others did theirs. Or how some of the shops on here are doing it?

Does anyone know on a 4L80, the two VSS, which plug goes to which pins on the RED connector. I did put the reluctor gear in the transmission to read the rear sensor. Unfortunately both connectors, (one which used to be on the GM transfer case) are the same. There are different wire colors. Just not able to find which one is forward and rear. Thanks.

Aftermarket harness?

stock gm harness, just can't find which connector needs to be fwd, and which one rear. They are still pinned in the PCM connectors, but my material only says VSS, not fwd or rear.
