Looks great! Sooo clean!

So that's what a 60'looks like with the FJ Cruiser rims. I've always liked those wheels. What size tires? Any issues with them?

no problems at all, but i do have the front range kit on the front and an 80 axle in the rear so my truck is wider than typical. i think the offset would be off for the stock axles.

Guys, I bought a high quality gray leather set from metric TLc. I have decided to leave the cloth in the truck. I will post it in the classified but if you are interest in buying them send me a pm

anyone with great experience tracking down drive line vibration please chime in. i have a rear drive line vibration that shows its self between 70 and 76 miles per hour. it is worse more sometimes than others. i thought it was the tires at first but i don't think that is it(after re-balance and replacement). The truck has an 80 series rear axle under it do the output shaft and pinion are not directly in line. I know others have used 80 series axles on there trucks, is this vibration to be expected.

Did you check the condition of the u-joints, and transfer case
output bearing and pinion bearing?

Mine has no vibration at all and my driveshaft is much shorter (more angle). No double cardon. You must have a bad component.

My 62 drives very well for what it is, it has great breaks and a wider stance as opposed to a typical 60/62. When i built this truck I considered putting it on an 80 chasis but decided to retain the 62 frame. Since i have been driving it alot i would like to have radius arm coil over on the front. I know that several folks have just taken an entire 80 front end and placed it under the chasis. Cam did a great job on his truck. the reason i am not going that route is i like running 3:73 gears. I am going to take a set of 80 radius arms and make a set of rear brackets that will use the rear spring mount as a alignment, make a bracket for the track bar and tower for the coil over. Since the 40 and 60 frame are very similar i was just checking the pulse to see if i did this in a kit form would anyone be interested. The goal is to make it bolt on with the exception of the two brackets required on the axle housing itself.

On another note my partner on the van business just launched a new website expovans.com you all should check it out.

Hey Brian,

I followed MGMetalworks build on that van over on ExPo and his conversion brackets/work is amazing!

I started a front end swap mid last year and got the 80 axle and arms under there, gonna go with ORI STX struts instead of coils.

Here's a pic of the axle placed with the mounts I used just for reference to the rear leaf spring mount. New mounts go almost exactly where the trans crossmember would go on the manual 60s.
