The neutral safety switch and backup light switch are both located on the FJ62 transmission. I couldn't figure out how to adapt them to the 4L60E, so if you figure that out please let us know! My half-ass solution to the NSS was to put a relay in the starter solenoid circuit that is activated by the brake light switch, so you need to step on the brake pedal in order to start the truck. I currently don't have any backup lights.

You don't have to use any of the FJ62 alternator wires, other than the battery wire.

I am going to wire in the Gm nsw it also has a reverse light switch
 
Are you able to do this directly through the MLPS or through the ECU? PLEASE let us know how to do this. It would be huge for anyone doing a Vortec swap. Thanks in advance!:)
 
My thought was on the GM NSS there are 5 wires, My thought was to run a wire from the G terminal to a relay. the factory 62 harness has a B-W wire coming from the switch then changes to a B-R wire to the starter. I was going to plug the B-W wire on side of relay and B-R on the other side and let the signal of the switch control the relay. As far as the reverse lights i was going to see what type of signal i would get from terminal F, my hope was to direct wire into the existing harness but it also may require a relay.

Sorry for the hijack. I am performing a similar swap in May and will have drivetrain parts for sale. The stock GM stuff is nothing special but may fit into someone's low buck project and along with the Toyota transfer case would be a solid score.
Yes I admit to some shameless plugging but we all try to look out for others and I don't want this stuff to rot in the wrecking yard if it will be a good fit in another truck.

Guys I am just about done working through the wiring. I should be done this weekend. I have printed out the wiring diagram and color coded all the circuits. I am marking out what I am removing and drawing how I am connecting everything together. I will post it in a few days
 
Need fuel pump help. I went to start the truck tonight and i am not getting fuel. I wanted to us the stock 62 pump with the camaro regulator. During the trouble shooting I found the stock pump was not coming through the regulator. Does the stock pump have the capacity to go through te 58 psi regulator. From the treads I read the stock pump works well. I pulled the regulator off and some gas was coming out. Could the stock pump be worn, can they lose capacity. I know a lot of the 80 guys run the supra pumps. Please help if anyone has information.
 
I bought a truck with the same swap that was pretty well executed, but they never bothered wiring up the NSS or the reverse light switch, so I have neither. I started looking into using the switch on the 4l60e last summer, but never followed through. Then I realized the B&M shifter in the truck has both switches built in as well, so thought that might be a simpler solution, but I'm new to this and didn't get far in tracing where I should splice the shifter switches in....any suggestions? (As in physically where are the original Toyota wires supposed to be, I started tracing at one point and couldn't find them.)

On the reverse lights splice the blue power wire from diagram above. The wire that feeds the lights is located on the plug drivers side floor, but the original power came from passengers side upper firewall area

I did just what you described and got my NSS and backup lights working! No relay was necessary for the backup lights. Terminal C and E both need switched 12V power. I believe that G and E can be switched around; either one can be hot, as long as the other goes to the relay. Thanks for your help, your diagram and explanation was exactly what I needed to finally get this figured out.
 
Has anyone had problems with the dekota tach module not reading correctly. I'm using the factory tach and have adjusted it all I can. It still reads about 150 low compared to scan gauge. Any help is appreciated.

Did the erod motor come with the exhaust manifold that you used? or did you have to get them separately? do you have a part number for the exahaust manifolds? they look like the Corvette C6 LS3 manifolds.
I have an 84 FJ60 that is getting a 5.3, which came from a pickup and the exhaust manifold is too wide for the frame.

Guys the truck is going to paint next week. I am in desperate need of the Crome pieces on the lower portion of the door glass on the outside of the door. Any leads please message me.
