Thanks for all the kudos guys...I'm getting a squishy feeling in the pit of my stomach as the bid goes up knowing I might actually have to go through with it...:crybaby:

Sunday the Labs may be flying our flag half mast and tipping some beer to the pavement...for a dead homie. Found a picture from 2003 but the tie goes much deeper than that. Good luck Brett on the auction. Easily one of our FAVORITE rigs. Thanks for all the history and here's to the future:cheers: THE LABS

Jesus...I think I actually had to fight back a tear. Ahhh...2003, if I had only stopped dumping money into her a year to two before that:doh:

don't buy that rig.
that rig sucks.
you don't want it.

nothing to see here...

* hoping to turn people away so I can literally steal it in 3 years *
;)

dude...you are SO gonna regret it and you know I'll never let you forget it...
I wish it was a different time and my finances were more in order than they are right now.

Who ever ends up with that rig will have one sweet ride.

I'd yank it Brett. Regret doesn't even come close to what you'll feel later on. Forget a muscle car. YOUR BJ70 is an investment. It's worth every dollar you are asking for and then some. It's inspiration for my where I want to take mine.

Would you be upset if the community bids up your rig to an obscene price, forcing eBay to yank it? Then you'd HAVE to keep it! Your cruiser family would just be looking out for you....:D

BTW, thanks for the new desktop background though!

Cheers,
Jason

Nice rig, and its already up to $17K. Would be nice to see you get 35K

My rig is similar (1988 BJ74), and I am only asking about $14,600 USD obo.
Makes me want to raise my price. :)

But in all seriousness. This looks like a stellar rig.
I know you will regret it.
I already now I am going to regret selling mine.

I guess your only option (to replace it one day) is to wait until rigs like mine are 25 years old, then import one.
Actually if you sell yours high now on ebay, you could save lots later.
Maybe not such a bad idea..... :)

Cheers,
N.

We all know that 35K won't even come close to the amount of time/care and experience you put into that fine machine.

Stay strong... Good luck with the sale!

if that one was mine, no amount of money would get it from my hands...
you have a bond there M8, it is family. respect it and pull the damn thing...

Wow,

Uh, wow.

Brett, if there is any way to keep it, I say keep it. I was inches from selling my truck, but it never worked out. Everytime I get in it now I am so thankful. That said, if I wasn't having such a hard time keeping one diesel cruiser I'd take yours in a heartbeat. Best of luck, whichever way it goes.

I see that you might consider trading for a 60/70 Mopar! Well I do not have a Mopar to trade with but I do have an 69 Mustang fast back :D if that strikes your interest let me know.

dude.....oh now that is going to be the one to regret right there.... are you 100% bent on selling?

I tell you what, I'll trade you my '60 for it - we'd be about even ;)

I know you guys all think I'm nuts...and maybe I am. I guess the "practical" side of my brain has just been gnawing at me lately. Now that my 62 crawler is almost done and my Mintruck has sold, I can't help but thinking that the 62 & the 100 are all I really need. The 70 is way too nice to take out and beat the hell out of on tough trails, that's what the 62 is for...and I can't ween myself off the pure comforting goodness of the V8 - sunroof - leather - IFS - Cup holder havin - 100 series on the long pavement trips like Moab & DV

I guess this makes me a pussy but so be it. The bottom line is I know it won't get used other than maybe Pismo once a year (cause that's really more like a drunken social gathering:D) and driving it around town once a month.

Having said all that, I have a number in my head and if the "right buyer" does not show himself and offer me that number, it won't be going anywhere...I'd rather let it sit another 10 years than give it away. Someday it may be worth the $50k I have into it, I just might be 80 when that happens:)

It is up to the Cruiser gods now....

I realy like the 70's

Short story on mine if you have ever seen a pic of it, 1987 BJ73 with 35k.

I listed a friends 60 a while back on ebay and you could make out the front end of my 73 through the windshield and this was way before I found MUD. Well a few days after the auction started I get a email from someone asking what I wanted for my 73. I reply thanks but it's not for sale. His reply was everything is for sale. I reply with, your not the guy who has deep enough pockets to want me to sell it.....His reply was whats your number you would sell it for? I spit out a BIG number, he emailed back stating he could be at my exit the following day with a cashiers check, his Hummer and a trailer..........................I sold it.

He showed up the next day with a H2 on crack and the coolest aluminum trailer..........Very cool guy from the Seattle area who has one of the rarest collections of Land Cruisers from around the world.

I had no idea what it was at the time other than it was freaking cool and I had one! Today, I would not have sold it. My guess, you will get over $23k for yours.

I would love to find one with a truck version in LHD if ones made, that would be the one to have for all the fishing and hunting I do.

Shane

maybe you should put this guy in touch with brett?!

anyways, i won't tell you that you're a fool brett. i know you to well to do that. what i can tell you is that you're the only one who knows when the time is right to sell a rig.
i went thru the same thing with orange. i had the LV for 7 years, built it up and loved driving it. but there was a point when i was ready to part with it. luckily i found the right buyer who enjoys the rig and drives it a lot more than i did. no regrets. none whatsoever! :)

oh sure, use common sense , you just ruined a great guilt trip...
nice going.
<insert grin>

18.6k and just over 2 days to go. hope you get what you're expecting brett, i know it's worth every penny and then some. ;)

I didn't see a reserve... so it's going for what it gets?

Don't worry. I think about selling mine all the time too. I just love wheelin it too damn much and the wife doesn't go so I don't need an 80 or 100 excpet for the wife to cart the kid around.:grinpimp:
