the charge light and brake light is constantly on my 854runner. i've replaced the battery but no change. i suspect it could be the alternator next. any ideas? thanks.

my instrument cluster only has fuel and temp gauges and speedometer. so, i swapped an SR5 instrument cluster which includes, tach, oil, battery gauges. The battery, fuel, tach works but not the oil pressure gauge. could it be the sending unit may be bad? any ideas are much appreciated.

Yup - brake anc charge lights = no charge from alternator. Take it in and have it tested - likely it's bad.

Sending unit must be unplugged, Check output of alt at battery with volt meter running should be 13.0 or better turn on everything see what it does, is the belt tight? If voltage is low with accesories running you need an alternator

Yes, you need a different sending unit. The one for the full gauge is very different than the one for just the light.

Geez, easy question. Expensive answer is a reman alternator. Cheep answer is replace the brushes. Once the alternator is out the brushes are a 5 minute job and cost about $14.
