My vote for best quote this year..

6 months isn't too bad of a delay for what's been done, heck most shops couldn't keep that kind of low overage. :D Now go get some bolts and git-crackin!

Not bad for just an overall freshening!

LOL! I was wondering how long it would be until someone brought that up! :D
It's funny how life works. Looking back, I think the biggest thing that has delayed my progress was the promotion at work . . . It's kept me away from home (and even out of the country on a couple occassions. . .) and at work for longer hours. :doh:I need to figure out a way to work less @ work and get paid more so I can work more @ home . . . LOL.

On another note, I've got a $1000 order for parts from Toyota going out this morning. Not sure if they'll make it in before we leave town for Phoenix/San Diego for the holidays.

Skinner, did you find a source for the new bolt kit you were looking for yet?

Yeah, went with the "kit" listed in the 40-series section. It's a kit for a 40, so for the 60 I'm looking at it as more of an accumulation of metric fasteners matching factory specs than as is a kit. . .

Well, what do you know. . .I'm off work for the rest of the year & figured I'd get some work done on the 60. And, seeing as how it is the holiday season, and I'm in a merry, giving mood; I figured I'd share a few photos . . .:D

First, a photo of the builder himself. . . taken from my best side.

Still need to fit these, but I'm waiting until I have the front clip on.

Finally, my Christmas present arrived from the Toyota dealer yesterday. Still waiting on a couple odds and ends from Japan, but most of it is in.
So, that's what $750 looks like  (and that's even with my discount). . .

What is in the box? I assume that it is all trim parts? The truck looks great!

Thanks for all the compliments on the shop! I built it last year and it sure makes things easier. I've spent too much time working on my back in the weather, but now I have 1100 sq.ft of heated paradise (seperate from "the wifes" garage) to work in!

The lift was a christmas present from my wife, so a frame off only makes sense, right?

that is a hella nice shop! do you live in it? i saw a bathroom, a fridge, and a dart board, just about got it covered!

LOL, not quite; but sometimes it feels like it! I suppose I could if I needed to . . . there's always been a part of me that would like to live in my shop/garage; an un-married part of me of course.;p (I ran the idea by my wife once; response was not what I hoped for!!)

Mostly exterior & door parts. Glass runs, belt moldings, taillamps, hood/core support parts, mirrors, etc.

I expect lots of pics from now till Christmas.

LOL, I'm in Phoenix now . . . Christmas Eve/Morning with the in-laws. . . heading to San Diego tomorrow afternoon to see my folks.

I'll post more progress pics when I get home (30th); I got the front clip & hatch on before we left.

Have a Merry Christmas!

Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?

LOL! Nice!

I'm hoping to work on it tomorrow. Gonna start "shaving" the old jute from the roof. I also am needing to strip a bunch of hardware (back to the original cadmium) and paint some in order to finish installing the tailgate, hood, & fenders.

Since I've been watching your progress from the beginning I might as well tell you officially now that you've been an inspiration and a guide for the work I'd like to do with mine.

After this experience and how intimately you've worked this will never be just a truck for you again.

Thanks!

Dude, your kung foo is great!!! Thank for leading the way in sharing this with us!!!

Nice work skinner,i can't wait to see this finished.
Now ive sucked up ive got a question
I went too the toyota dealer in oz today, asked for new door handles, rear tailgate seals, inner and outer door belt strips, windscreen seal, tailgate glass seal.
She phoned me later and said if its all available $1500
She also said tomorrow morning she will check what is avail or not, while on the phone she said well i'll just check one item as an example of availability, checked upper tailgate seal, not available.
I can maybe make do with some aftermarket seals but im thinking some items that are not avail in oz might be in usa,and i might even save a few dollars, did you get all new rubbers, can you give me an idea of what is still available or not.
