Where do I connect the single lug (armature)at the end of the motor on my '77 8247? Replacing solenoids with contactor.. Contactor has the 4 lugs ,pos and neg to battery then the other two to the f1 & f2 lugs on motor. I've checked the diagrams on line and still don't get it. Where the heck do I connect that cable on the end of the motor???

As he said ^. Start by reading these two threads:

Yes I've read all those and more. I'd like to know what the function of the armature lug is. Is it a negative or positive. Unfortunately I'm not electrically gifted some of the diagrams show 4 wires going the motor Is there polarity of the a lug?

Current flow is what matters. Current flow is always the same through the armature. Direction is determined by current flow through the field winding. F1 to F2 or F2 to F1.
