Some of us have experimented with the late model TRD Trail Edition wheels. Luke111 was very helpful through his experience and I have done something a little different. These are wider bore to fit over the hubs where the factory 80 wheels ride.

I'd you measure the wheels they are a half inch narrower than the stock 80 wheels. That means that if the hub has the same backspacing that the inside edge of the wheel measures an eighth to a quarter of an inch closer to the inner hub mounting face. It did, so that means that if mounted without spacers these wheels will feed the tire into the wheel well as designed for the best clearance.

These wheels don't fit over the factory hubs without machining away the retention lip for the hub caps. I went with 33 inch 295 BFGs and they sit in the wheel wells perfectly. They balanced great using the lug centric mount and I have a 2.5 OME heavy lift on the truck. The bumpers and sliders are not mounted yet so I expect some compression and loss of height. Rides and drives excellent, even without the weight of the armor. I got these factory 2013 Trail Edition take offs from a 2013 FJ Cruiser Trail Edition. I like the old school look and narrower track inside my flares. Look at Luke111s truck it's a real show piece with 35s and 1.5 inch spacers. I didn't want to mess with more lift or space the wheels out of the wheel wells so I went this way. Hope you enjoy the post. Geologic

Factory finish comes in a black like mine, bronze or a gun metal grey with clear coated aluminum rings that protect your air valve but can be left on or removed

Thanks for the help Lou, these are the factory black finish that comes with silver faux bead lock rings on the 2012-13 Toyotas that have the Trail Teams package. They are not 17s as someone posted earlier. They are 16 by 7.5 inches and they are low pressure cast alloy that has a higher strength than stock. The bolt pattern is 6x139.7,the hub bore is 106 mm, the offset is 10mm. They won't fit without 2 inch spacers or machining of the hub bore where the hub cap lip interferes with our longer hubs. Both Luke and I went hub cap free.

Good info to know.
Did you find the need to go with wheel centric spacer or are you running smooth vib free with standard spacers?

Howdy! Are these DOT rated like most of the Toyota factory rims? Are they the ones that say they are made in China? I have seen several styles that are made there, but they are rated as Car wheels, not Truck wheels, whatever that means. John

These are Toyota Racing Development or TRD wheels. They are made in Great Britain. they are made for the current Tacoma, 4-Runner, FJ Cruiser etc. If you read the thread you'll see that I chose not to use spacers and bore the hub cap lip out so that the wheels run in almost the exact position in the wheel well as the stock wheels would. They are Toyota.
