WOW, that was a close call for you... Glad you are OK other than the emotional injuries...

Assuming pl/pd insurance since it's an older off-road/fun rig and no checks are gonna be written w your name on them?

I've always had to suck it up when I ruined my trucks...

Somebody find this man a cheap pristine/cherry 80/Lx, with a blown motor or similar scenario that yields an amazing price, so he can recover with a smile.

Long live the pink panty wagon !

Damn D. Again glad you are ok and the 80 took the brunt for you. I know you have been schemeing to fix/mod/etc the suspension for sometime. We were just talking about this element at camp this weekend; when my J's need replacing whether I would go to 4" lift or drop down a bit. Just camp fire talk. But reading this really brings it home.

Just sue OME or whoever for the resulting suspension issues from the coil springs lift:flipoff2:

Wasn't there actually a 100 series thread that rediculously ventured down a path like that?

All jokes aside, there is a bit of legitimacy to needing the aftermarket to address some of the issues instead of just giving you springs and caster band aids.

The geometry figures on that 3 link thread spelled it all out. It just wasn't defined previously.

s***ty way to expedite the endeavors you posted on pirate. I hope this doesn't discourage you.

No checks to be written TO me, but by me is a whole other story.

Full coverage was stated to pay less than purchase price, so illogical.

I take full responsibility since I've known that there were issues, but honestly felt that I had enough seat time to avoid this scenario.

I still do not understand how the circumstances resulted my losing control, even though I get what happened.

I hope this doesn't discourage you.

It emboldens me.

Man that sucks. Now go buy a 200 Series and a small aluminum trailer. Then go over to your Polaris dealer and get a RZR 900 and use that for your adrenaline wheeling. Once you go down that road, you will not wheel a full body truck again. Guaranteed. All the fun of a buggy, hell of a lot less costly and you don't have to search extreme trails to challenge a full blown buggy.

This is the worst suggestion I've ever heard. I hate side by sides. You expect someone to rock a RZR on the rubicon?

What is wrong with Side by sides. We are doing the Rubicon next year in RZRs. Already did part of the Kokopelli trail
Usually noisy, usually driven by douches, usually make a lot of dust, pricey, not capable of "anything a rock buggy can do", can't be driven to the trail legally, and sorta effeminate to me.

All personal opinion. I hate seeing them when I'm out

Reality check for the vulnerability of the 80 series. Ive said it before… rear end me, T-bone me, clip me… but god help me if I roll. Glad I kept the 80 at stock height --- and still I find it less than reassuring at times.

Glad you are OK!

I am with Slee on this one. Well kind of.

Order a 4 door FJ45 aluminum body for the 80 frame. Turn it into a fun family cruiser and get a dirt bike or side by side for your trail adrenaline. Cover a lot more ground, suspension is more forgiving, etc.

You already have a GX for your soft SUV.

P.S. Really glad you are ok. We all should take this upcoming weekend and go over our trucks. We have threads with wheels coming off and guys flopping panties to the side. Lets try and knock this s*** out.

Don't let it get you down and if you do have full coverage, push them a little bit. They revalued my truck at around $16k.

Especially on the eve of a big roadtrip/expedition with the family...

I had that a lot with the FJ55 on long road trips. It was hard to keep it on the road sometimes. I always thought I could handle it. I tried to never let my terror affect the family...
