I suck at Scribble Light, even with stylus.

Chris,
Here are a few pics of mine when I trimmed the rear quarter. I didn't cut as high as you have sketched, so when I plated the bottom, it flushed out with the area where the body mounts attach. Your plating might get a little more involved if you cut as high as you plan. Looking forward to the finished product.

Going to revisit yours.

Pics saved and template to follow. Will be sure to properly credit. Haha.

I've purposely not pulled the interior panels to see what all is involved, but in all honesty, the reason to that line was aesthetics, since it follows the bottom of the tailgate.

Will take heed of warning, and adjust.

Looking forward to the finished product.

I'm scared of it.

I realize that, at some point, she's gonna get bent, scratched, and dented but still like for it to look like it was thought out.

Forgot about the bob.

You ever seen Tulsa this time of year, Derrick?

It's absolutely friggin' gorgeous, man. You ought to check it out...........plus I've got a welder and can stock up on beer, or whatever the vice.

Remember to leave enough room to open the tailgate.....

Man, if I only lived closer, you had me at "beer"!

Thought of that early on, but questioned again and appears it (it=the plan I've not concocted yet) should clear.

Local wheeler, now Jeep convert, recently picked up a Runner.

85 4runner, 4:7 doubler, 30 spline chromoly axles 5.29 gears ARB front, Lunchbox rear and a whole bunch of other goodies.

Didn't believe me I drug the Lexus through Clayton. Hahaha.

Man, if I only lived closer, you had me at "beer"!

And chicks!! Everywhere. They farm them out of Tulsa, I swear.

Haha

Liking you're line better, after looking at it, but think I'm gonna try to fab a body mount that'll allow the taper at a slower angle than you chopped yours, and leave ~ 2 1/2" of meat of the frame rails.

No real reason why, but why ask why, right?

Think it's time to start cutting into the quarters and thinking I'll go ahead and do the front and rear fenders, while I'm in there.

Can always put four coats of liner on to conceal my chitty sheet metal welds.

Have better than that.

Met up with the local LX crew and his group of wheelers.

We made it up the main run where this Jeep took the go around.

(In all fairness, not really the Jeeps fault. Haha)

I task you to count the beans, if the wife has to liquidate. WAIT until then though. I don't want to know.

I counted once when we worked on the 40 in 2005 - I will never ever count again

To the " Nays", suggestions?

I wouldn't pull the line up that high (I can see how it would memorialize the FJ55 look, but somehow it doesn't work on the 80)

and that beige just doesn't speak to me together with the pearl :meh:

I think if you do the two-tone, go with the historical 55 cruiser two-tones: cream/turquoise, cream/orange - the pearl probably comes close enough to the cream to workout in a two-tone scheme

alternatively, leave just the roof white and select a solid body color, like one 40s, FJ Cruisers, or ttub's 80

Unintended birthday gift being an two emails from Ih8mud with birthday wishes, one of which a user name I don't recall ever establishing here.

Yeah, but Delancy would've typed at least three times as much to say what you just did. Hahaha

Happy belated Chris

You're the clone I've been looking for, for a few years. NOW GET HOME, there's work to do. Hahaha.

I won't ask the age, cause then I'll feel older than I already do.

Happy Birthday, Chris.

Happy birthday, indeed

Thanks, Claudia.

Odd how time seems to hasten with each passing.

Pretty dang close to the eight thousand words describing and what I was trying to draw.

Though he edited :flipoff2: , Gumby lumping both of our substandard "levels of reading comprehension" and "inability to understand the simplest of concepts" while, possibly true for me, are misplaced for yours, since you comprehended my writing fairly accurately, which is rare.

Great pic of Tool's that's 89% there, in all honesty.

In adapting what I'm looking for to similar, would like the front upright to roll with well, since I don't have flares, and the quarter protection to be higher....I think.

Rear frame rails appear to be shortened, but otherwise left alone, which if I had to live with I would. Would like to get the lower quarters and the protecting steel up a bit, to keep knocking on rocks with, but could probably live with that, too.
