Those Aerocatch latches are pretty damn nice. :hmm:

Oh and I have been goofing off spending some of my time with a motorbicycle idea I have using a 160-200cc souped up engine and gates belt drives. lol.

i.e. but using very modern materials and technology.

I have all the ingredients for an original "Zipper" back in my workshop in Iowa. Have wanted to fit it to a bicycle for awhile now.

I am not really up on the old motorcycle lingo, I am guessing a zipper is one of the first v-twin engines? I did a couple google searches and most just came back with a new engine company called Zippers.

I think it could be really fun. An elite cyclist only produces about 2hp, you can easily fit a single cylinder 160-200cc engine with some head and cam work that can produce 12-maybe 20hp. On a bike that is only going to weigh 65-70lbs you could really zip around town. The only thing is most states only have laws for 50cc or less not needing to be licensed and registered etc. so I will need to slap a 50cc badge on it somewhere. Lol. But you add to that hydraulic disc brakes, carbon fiber bars, stem, post, isolation mounts, ti frame, and big 29x2.5" slickworm tires and you have a really fun toy that can blast up to maybe 50-55mph and get 75+mpg

Close to 30", 29.2" it is very hard to find performance tires in sizes that big. They are 295/40 R20, I think being 4 wheel drive and having limited slips in the front and rear axles should hold enough.

If I wanted to get silly I guess I could throw 29x12.50 20 drag radials on.

In the beginning of the thread I was going to go with a completely custom wheel, so I could go a little larger, but when Volk released the PCD 20" wheels I thought they would be a cooler twist on the Japanese Hotrod theme.

What size did you end up with down to 30"?
Love those rims and the color.
Hope those tires will handle the torque [emoji41]

Rims are real cool. You going to keep current diff ratios?
Thinking about it if you going to rev higher, smaller wheel circumference and a crap load of more power std ratios should be fine......

Yeah I have asked Nitro Gears what gear ratio they think is the strongest and have not heard an answer. I will likely just be using the stock ratio rebuilt by Zuk, with the torsen diffs.

Oh here is another part that is kind of unique.

It is the OEM Japanese spoiler. It isn't quite as mint as the seller made it out to be, but I think it will be kind of cool.

Hawt. Strange how the te37 has been in style for 20 years now and still looks as awesome as it did back then.

Yeah I think they are pretty classic! Even though they are old they don't look dated. I can't wait to get them on!

Big part of why I've always wanted a 93-95 rx7 with TE37s on it.. both never seem to age.

Haha that's pretty awesome! What size is the 2 stroke? I thought about doing a 2 stroke since it gets you a little more umf compared to the same size 4 stroke but didn't want to mess with mixing gas, the noise and the smoke.

Did you use a kit? Or did you buy the bike complete? I really am going off the deep end thinking about this.

Does it use a centrifugal clutch? How is it getting started?

View attachment 1132873 Here's my motorized 2 stroke beach cruiser, I can get up to 35mph, it's alot of fun around my beach town and so far the cops don't seem to mind, :)......
