Vehicle currently at Land Cruiser Specialist in North Austin and was given a clean bill of health out side of oil pump,
Fun story a vendor of mine purchased vehicle at charity auction a week and brought it to me to cause he knew i loved TLC's and sold it for the low price of $3800. Not a bad deal.

First wanted to say I am so glad I've found this site. I look forward to being here and sharing knowledge (I'll be more on the receiving end I'm sure but I'll help wherever I can). Bought this car with my son who about to turn 16. First thing he wanted was a Tacoma, then a Colorado, then a 4Runner, THEN....a very good friend of mine made me a deal I couldn't turn down on this LC. I was a little concerned about the age and mileage but took it my mechanic and he gave it the thumbs up (even after I told him to be really "Nosey"). Cosmetically she is in great shape. Newly recovered leather seats. no major paint issues. After my son and I spent a day polishing her up she looks awesome. Few maintenance type things I can fix but other than that she is great. I love this LC so much I'd trade my son for my 2016 Silverado if it wasn't a company truck...but I don't think he would trade it anyway. Bumpers have a few rust spots so I'll probably repaint those soon.

1. 1996 FZJ80
2. Cy (That is my son, he paid for half of it so I'll let him claim it, but I'm not sure who loves her more

I look forward to asking you experts a lot of questions. I do know how to "search" though so hopefully I won't have ask to many because there is so much information already here.

Picked this up in August. I've had a 100 series for a few years, but this is my first 80. I love it so far! It was bought for my son, but we still have a few years until he's legal to drive it. We plan on just catching it up to speed and enjoying it for a long while!

“Crusi” the er was missing from the rear hatch when I bought it. My son calls it the monster truck
I had a new tundra was forced to sell one. the 97 won the battle. I’ve read mud for years just recently found some free time to sign up and write something. Love the info on this and wanted to say thank you to everyone on here.

2. Wayne
3. Kermit...not really sure
4. 180,000
5. Nada at this time
6. Holding down the shop concrete. Never in the US long enough to take it for a good spin. Bought it last summer and we enjoy 4,000 miles driving from Memphis to Vancouver then to storage in Idaho. Other hobbies pop into my head but once in awhile I'll remember I have a 80 series in my shop waiting for some lovin'. Might rebuild the stock drivetrain but really like the idea of a 6.0L LS and 6L80E trans, 4.88 gears, 35" rolling stock and all the ARB gear I can toss at it. Really impressed with their products. Enough for now but thought I had posted last year. Don't see a post but maybe I missed it.

Daily Driver

Just wanted to introduce myself, I’ve been lurking/shopping for a bit and finally pulled the trigger on an 80 in Kansas City a few days ago. I have no idea what I’m doing and have a local shop (St. Charles Foreign Car) lined up to look it over on Wednesday and tell me if it passes safety inspection and what they recommended I start fixing. Low range seems to work but I think the center diff lock may be broken. Paid too much but I liked the color/cloth/93-94-95. Wish me luck and I’ll report back. I look forward to the camaraderie!

All Stock, Triple-Locked but double-locked for now until i get the rear lock fixed.
Just got this and drove 1200 miles straight. Needs a bit of TLC treatment before I start modifying this whale. Mostly making sure ride quality is tight as it can be (steering/new bushings/no rattles). Goal is a mild setup for overlanding trips.
It will be used as a School Bus/Ski Rig and will eventually split exploration duties with my other rig once ready.

Here it is next to the other rig. The Jeep is also used as primary rig for overlanding trips, at least until the LX is deemed ready then we'll switch back and forth depending on the trails we will be tackling. They trade insults to each other behind my back.
