Just bought a '97 LX450 last weekend. Here are some pics. I plan on driving it for a bit before I start the modifications. Except for the radio and speakers. I am changing those out tomorrow.

Hello,
From two years I am doing full restoration of my toyota. The goal is to make it as new and genuine as possible. Before starting it looked as below:

now it is :) :

Interior in progress, waiting for new 1HDT engine. I hope it will be back on the road next year.

I'm so happy I found this rig.

5. Completely stock and unaltered when I bought her in September 2016. It had 20k miles on it in the last 10 years so the tires were dry rotting. Put a set of 33" Goodyear Wrangler A/T's on it. Replaced the factory stereo with a Joying Android stereo system including a USB 4G connection so I can stream Pandora and have weather / real time topo maps in the rig. Has GPS also for street maps and the topos. Added a bluetooth ODBII connector to stream engine data to the stereo display. Pulled out the seats and carpet and lined the whole floor with sound deadening FatMat padding. Replaced front speakers that were blown with Sony 4 ways. I don't plan to alter the truck much but I will be adding an Arb bull bar and winch plus some updated shocks for the factory suspension.

6. Daily driver. Time travel.
7. I'll post pics shortly.

6. Owned it for 14 years. Never broken down, always serviced and pretty much ready to go. Has been on many adventures and got us home. It used to be a second daily but now days Used mainly weekends and gets used primarily as an off road tourer.

2 No.
3 The dog (even though it's a pig).
4 277k miles on the chassis. PO said the engine was replaced 85k miles ago but who knows how many miles it had before that.
5 CDL switch, heated mirrors, 9500# winch, front tube bumper, removed flares and running boards.
6 The dog is a DD during the winter and serves dual purpose as a project/toy. I bought it to replace my 3rd Gen 4runner (the pup) which I bought, because my car (the shark) was denting and cracking wheels on Chicago streets during the winter, and I sold because...well, Land Cruiser:). I also use it to go to places difficult to get into and out of.

This truck is on it's second life. Bought for $2400 because it was leaking from virtually every seal. Most people saw eight separate oil spots under it and ran away. I saw the oil spots and said to myself "Hey, at least I know it's full of fluids!" A few hundred bucks in gaskets and a knuckle rebuild later she's as good as new AND since the underside was so caked in oil and grease there's virtually no rust on the frame and none of the bolts were seized!

I want to thank everyone on this site too. This has been an invaluable resource for information and guidance for everything from the PHH to the knuckle rebuild, checking ECU codes, etc. I've been lurking for a while now but wanted to say hi. I have a couple of projects in mind and will probably reach out in the future.

i have a lot of know how and a lot of tools and cant wait to dig into this thing.

its the 1hd-t auto

I'm sure as i dig in ill find other fun things ill need to address.
