What are the physical dimensions of the 2x2 pod? I missed the group buy but the ELS lights are still significantly cheaper and built better than anything elsei have seen out on the market.

Have one sitting right here. The main body is 2"x2" - but with mounting and all it is 2" wide by 3" tall by 3" deep.

Finally got one installed, many to go! I'm waiting until its not 21 degrees for the next ones.

Added two pods to each side of the roof rack.....great for flood-lighting the areas. Just slightly loose at the rack side

mount so I can turn them as needed. Used a nylock nut on the bolt. Purchased two OEM switches from a previous post link to operate each side.

I tried to capture the output of a 42" bar for everyone but I'm afraid my iPhone camera did not do it justice. But here are the pics anyway.

Pics
#1: Low beams with HIR bulbs
#2: Low/High beams all with HIR & IPF XS900 driving lights (6 lights total)
#3: 42" LED spot pattern bar sitting on roof.

I had the bar simply sitting on top of my ARB bumper but liked the beam pattern much better from the roof. I plan to mount this on a roof rack I'm yet to build.

Looking back at the lights for good measure.

Overall I'm really impressed with the light output. Like I said my iPhone could not due it justice as I'm sure it auto metered for the increase of light from the LED bar. I'm not really that good with my real camera to manually override it to meter all three pictures the same. I would say the LED bar put out 3-4 times the light as my low/high/IFP's combined. The picture below kind of shows that. I can't wait to get this mounted to a rack.

Thanks for the pictures. How does the 42" compare to the IPF XS900 in terms of distance?

To fully answer that I'd need a longer stretch of road. I definitely got more distance out of the LED light bar. But how much I could not say. The location on the roof also helped with distance the road pictured kind of rolled down and the IPF's case a shadow on the road. Much like the depth photos pictured earlier in the thread.

Sweet. I see the hood glare isn't bad either! Perfect :)

I may have to swap my combo out for spot, less hood glare the better.

I tried out my 21" on the front of my new 4Runner and based on how it sits in front of the grill then it is going to fit nicely on my forthcoming Shrockworks bumper. Unfortunately I have to wait about 4 months to see how it is going to look. :hillbilly:

Guess that means I will have to get another one for my Pickup...

I can't really comment on hood glare as the light was literally sitting on the roof back by the sun roof so it would not fall off. The rest of the roof was shading the hood so no direct light was hitting it except maybe the very front edge. So I can't really say glare is good or bad based on my experiment tonight.

Its my intention to build a rack that positions the light similarly though to prevent any issue if it even exists. I want the back of the light housing at the leading edge of the sun roof and as close to the roof as possible.

In my quest to wire three pairs of LED lights.... four 10w Pods and a pair of 2x2... My first attempt to wire the lights in parallel to reduce the wires at the main connector .... was pretty much a hack job and frustrating .... So I went in search of a connector that would make the job simple... today I found it! 3 way heat shrink connector...ordered from Amazon.. I also order Tri-Groove Security Nuts from McMaster Carr to secure the lights ...

Any news on harness' or should I just buy what was recommended by other posters?

Nick, is it possible to order covers for the light bars? Ca law says all off road lights need to be covered when driving on the roads...

Craig...what type of covers are you talking about? I see people (legal or not) driving around all the time with out what I would call covers. It isn't something I had ever thought of.

Any LED light bar has to have a non-transparent (black).. cover on it while driving on city streets/roads. If a cop wants to be a **ck, he can give you a ticket (in California). This is to prevent drivers from "Flashing" people and potentially causing issues with bright LED light bars.

I was warned about this pulling out of my works underground parking structure yesterday by a cop.
