I have a question about a FZJ80 series to 1HDT (1HZ or 1HDFT) diesel and manual transmission swap and how it relates to cruise control and TPS.
I know on some early model manual transmission HDJ80s, the trucks did not have a throttle position sensor on the injection pump even though they had cruise control. The cruise control ECU on those model trucks did not require the “Idle” switch input from a 4-pin TPS.
My question is - for the North American spec FZJ80 guys who swapped in a 1HDT engine with a manual trans, were you able to delete the TPS/IDL, ETC, and OD inputs and still utilize the cruise control?
PFA
Thanks!
