I have ran them on my 62 for years. They hold up better than a lot of tires in the rocks in Hot springs and have good road manners.

Good to know bud the Hot Springs rocks are slicing up my grapplers of course they been to Tennessee a few times too so I think I've gotten my money out of them but will be looking to see what my next AT will be I drive my 80 to work everyday so a set of MT's wouldn't last me.

Don't know that I posted these here before SCC. This is the winch solenoid pack extended and relocated under the hood to get it out of the weather and so I can now use the wireless remote. It was a huge PITA bending and positioning the terminals to fit back in the solenoid pack but in the end I like how it came out. I used a Tv bracket in my pile of junk parts that turned out to be a perfect fit for the solenoid pack gotta love it when you save all those junk parts and they actually come in handy to use :) I used the Slee relocation kit to move the windshield washer out of the way to clear space for it :D

Is that the HF winch mount, where ya basically just cut off a couple on's and it kinda bolts up, looks sweet either way. ;)

Yes. It's the HF winch channel. I cut the sides to outside frame width, and also part of the front to fit it inside the stock bumper; the rear upper bar on the winch just touches the center support bracket. With a smaller winch, I suppose one could mount the plate a bit further back, and avoid having to cut the front of the winch channel (which provides support to the fairlead mount).

Cutting metal in the driveway on Saturday morning sure is a nice way to get back to those folks who insist on running their lawnmowers at 7 am... :)

Damn Cody, you have x-ray vision or something? :lol: I am using the HF winch plate on the front of the 40 and had to cut the ends off also. And we had to make risers for the ends so it would clear the PS box.

And Larry, that's a sweet looking 80 dressed in camo. Makes me want to get one.....

I think it'll hold me over until I/we (that is, me and my wife Claudia...) come to an agreement on a front bumper...
I like tube, something like BIOR but modified for a larger main tube and NO stinger (stingers only prevent endo's on buggies, not on 3-ton station wagons...), she'd prefer an ARB, but then it'll look like any other white '80 with an ARB...

I have the feeling I'll acquiesce to an ARB, for something other in return... :)
 
if we find the right fabricator (and price), we'd both go for a tube front bumper, rather - just sayin'

(the key reason I prefer an ARB over MT right now is that I believe the ARB will be an easier/better resale once we do eventually find that one-of-a-kind fabricator dude here in LA :hillbilly: - I mean, they must be hiding somewhere in this here swamp . . . )
 
Sway Bar Disconnects

For those that don't wander over to the Tech section often. LandCruiserPhil has refined and made his sway bar disconnects available for purchase. I was going to fab up something similar, but for $100 it may be worth someone else working out the kinks, sourcing all of the hardware, and proving it out for the past 9 years.:cheers:
