As you have started to do please take detailed pictures of what appears to be a rare and original truck.

It one point I was going to try to assemble a reference of pictures of each model/year... to combine with Toyota ads and original paperwork...

Maybe you can start it off?

THATS FREEKIN AWESOME, i remember i used to be into datsun 1600's (P510 you guys call them) i found all that stuff in the boot, even wheel chocks and the original sale documantaion. love finding those 'usually lost' items hiding in your new vehicle congratulations seems you got a beauty

I run every lead on every Land Cruiser that comes my way.....90% of the time it's junk or way too high.

This truck was bought new by the guy I got it from it spent the first 4 yrs commuting from Dallas to the ranch in Northern Fannin Co. since 1983........ last time it was registered it has not left the ranch. He told me those tires on it when I picked it up were bought new in '83 driven to the ranch and were still that good.....although rotten
He's older and scaling back decided to sell, somebody told him I was into these and he called me.

haha... I hear that. I got lucky last January. I bought a mint condition FJ60 with a cracked head for only $500. I sold it last week for $6,700 after putting 30-40 hours into it and another $500. It was in almost perfect condition, just not the rare factor...

How many of ya know that Toyota changed the spacing on the 4 center bolts at some time.....

Got this one all painted than had to drill 4 new holes in the rear cross member

Interesting...We should probably investigate this change to confirm approximately when that step in Pigevolution occurred...
My guess, it's just a vertical taillights year oddity.
But now I'm wondering how the newer bolt pattern compares with early FJ60s.

From 68-74 Toyota offered two crossmembers for the 55.
51281-60040
51281-60041

They also offered 4 style bumpers from 68-74 2 regular painted in pewter and two chrome.
The regulars were
52151-60010 pewter
52151-60011 pewter
52151-60020 chrome
52151-60021 chrome

From 76-80 they only offered one style cross member.
51281-60041


From 75-76 they offered two bumpers
52151-60011 pewter
52151-60021 chrome


From 76-80 they offered only one bumper
52151-60011 pewter



So I'm thinking you got a pewter bumper from a 74 or older 55 with the other cross member. 52151-60010

I wonder beside the holes what else is different about the cross member?
