Whoooaaaa.. I have to respond to that compliment w a smile of appreciation, and a reality check.. Grins.... I'll confess I vicariously know a bunch of SME's and restorer's here on mud, and to reading a ton of threads!! Thank goodness for this forum and the real rebuilders.. I love these old trucks, and putting them back on the road w a strong tilt to keeping them OEM is my thing.. This green/white is an incredibly complete truck... needs some lipstick.
BTW, my PnB neighbor told me he may be putting some paint on it this coming week... Jazzed.. Nebula green and white...
Good color choice!

Any pics of these steps?
I just smacked my forehead... I thought about it, but remember thinking no one would be interested in the 'in progress' pics.. Sorry.!!!.. my bad... but my takeaway is if I can do it, anyone can..
I need to add, the 'floor insulation' was floor padding/insulation for cars.. I bought it originally for the 55 floors, went in another direction.. When I removed the seat covers, the OEM fabric liner(s) on the three pieces (differentiating from the foam padding) needed something to give it structural integrity... Note: The front seat 'bottom' or seat only has foam, no liner under the foam.... The auto floor insulation was a perfect solution.. I just cut it to length/width and applied it full length and width over the OEM fabric liners.. The gorilla headliner spray glue was the big lucky thought during the seat rebuilds...both with the insulating padding and the foam applications... I should have taken pics...

That is funny!
Your efforts made me think I can do better w/ my front seat.
But at a certain point when I was reading your post, I thought, "This is a lot of words. Pictures would be better!"

I don't think those are from the 70's.. Possibly Toyota.. but two things say no to me... the three grooves that allow for the height adjustment is definitely later than 70's.. And each of the headrests have the 'catch' tab at the top of the post under the headrest... I don't think the 40's,55's, or 60 series had the post width of 10"

Well thank you for the pics now I going to go to pick n pull and see what they might have. Also looking at every car on the road and staring at the drivers seat as I go by, thanks everyone for your reply

Got the broken spring replaced on the front driver's seat bottom today, and finished attaching the seat cover... then the backrest to the seat bottom.... too easy!!
Now just waiting on PnB... I've decided to go w a new SOR headliner... and new rear cargo area side glass gaskets from Slocruisers.... Slowly but surely..

above pics represent today's status on PnB.. Body guy convinced me to replace the headliner... right move .. rust in two corners on the left rear cargo glass (new gaskets SLOCRUISERS)... New headliner going in next week (SOR),... He wants to paint the interior, I said go for it... He cut out the front left floorboard and welded in Remy's floorpan...NICE!! He decided to take the tailgate off !! and paint the jams, etc... After taking some dents out of the roof, which is the real reason the headliner came out, it'll be ready for next steps... Maybe Santa brings me a Nebula green and white 55 for my XMas surprise!! Excited...
Good product on those front floorpans Remy.
