Ach, such attention to detail. You snowed in or somethin'?

Hub bodies are disassembled, cleaned and ready for reassembly in the AM. Hit the housings with some paste wax for good measure. I'll start on the lockout/clutch gear, pawl and spring later...

30" + or -

....It's either do something productive or suffer through an episode of "Young Vampires on crack, killing cross dressing Werewolf's in love with Rap artists who have been excommunicated" Season II Ep 4. Sooo, you got something needs cleaned????

I see the conundrum you face...

Carry on, then!

Nice work on those hubs......Hummmmmm, I do accept late Christmas gifts you know? ;)
OMG, this is what happens when you reveal your industrious nature to others, they'll try and take advantage of you every time!

late Christmas gifts

These ASCO "long axle" hubs are getting hard to source...If you find a set grab them and I'll disassemble and clean them up for you...TLC Karma comes back knocking on your door... Least I can do for your "Festivus gift"...

After disassembling my warns, I can see why the ascos command a premium.

After disassembling my warns

Ran em' for years and years and a couple more years on my Jeeps (<will that get me thrown of the thread?) Good solid hub, no complaints or catastrophic failures for that matter. But, I never really tortured them.

Are you running "long axles"? These odd ball years are the tuff nut to crack. I found plenty of early and later years.

Gaskets are ready for reassembly. I may have the opportunity to mount the hubs this weekend. Waiting on one clutch/lockout gear and pawl spring to finish everything up. In the meantime, I'll head "up-town" to NAPA for some self etching primer. Not sure what I'm going to do just yet regarding a paint scheme. I believe the ASCO hubs were grey from the factory...I'm running blue heater hose, so I don't believe I'll be a slave to color...

Blue and Gold are the state colors over there!

That is a fact but, I'm kinda partial to the Wear'n O the Grey.."We feel despite the sneers of those who never smelt the fray, that we've a manly honest right to the wearing of the grey"..

LoL, couldn't resist...o_O

Yes running long hubs. Hindsight is 20/20 should have sourced a 60 axle for brake donor. A quick search for the long Aisin looks like $400ish for a pair.

Finished cleaning the hubs today. Used some self etching primer and epoxy paint on the hub cover and dial.

Hub bodies are back together..Had an issue with the O-ring on the selector. I'll post up more on that particular enigma later...

I sure don't see any grey on those hubs!
