This is awesome!

Kuddos for building something and bringing it to the market, domestic manufacturing, impressive engineering, very cool!

Definitely would want to beef up the rear axle flanges and rear suspension links / frame mounts.

Thanks but I can’t take the credit for these. I own Dissent offroad and these portals are made by 74Weld We have been running their portals on our own rigs for a good while now and absolutely love them. We also install a lot of them on customers vehicles.

Heads up if you guys want to check out the truck they just posted on IG they’ll be at RsF cars and coffee Saturday morning @TeCKis300 @Boston Mangler

I almost feel obligated to go, and bring some tools to remove those godforsaken “ditch lights” and toss them in the rubbish

#ditchlightsdontmatter #endthisdumbtrend
I would say they are the manbun of off-roading but there are so many other options for that title..

And I’d agree with ya 100%

Should be renamed to “blinding hood glare death candles”

It’s hard to take people serious when I see this nonsense.

But…. Portals…

After speaking with my agent, I will be making an appearance as well, to display my redone tint, at @ryanCA request cause he loves him some tint

@dudemancool1904 if you’ll be there and still want those springs lemme know, gonna roll out in a few

I hope they don’t tow my old relic for being an eyesore of the poors

Great hanging with you also @TeCKis300

I’ve been to a ton of car shows and various cars and coffee but the RSF one is different…

No matter what you’re into, they have something for everyone.

Unimogs to Million Dollar Hypercars and everything in between.

I’m still a little overwhelmed by it all 😂

Protip: Get there early!

As for the Portals: Yeah, cool and all, and love seeing companies pushing the envelope with new stuff, but attention is in the details and for a shop truck, wasn’t all that impressed with the finish work on the 200

74Weld stuff was top tier 👍🏼👍🏼
SDHQ stuff, not so much.

I need this decal:

And for those that have done rear discs conversions on FJ40s or 60s and used the tried and true GM Monte Carlo caliper for the disc parking brake, you’ll notice something very familiar here:

74weld 200-series application page back up

They refer to this as a Full-Size Legacy Toyota Portal Axle. Anyone know why the term legacy is used?

Talking to Quinn, this application is seeing pretty strong demand and will likely sell out of the first run soon.

Some few pics I grabbed from the meet. Front brakes are re-using stock caliper with an upgraded rotor likely to accomodate hte 6 lug. Also looks to be a 2-piece rotor.

Rear brakes are an aftermarket Wilwood caliper and rotor.

No extra bracket / gusset on the rear 🫣🥴

For anyone who has already re-geared and getting portals... what's the plan? Re-gear back to stock? 40s?

Also curious

When I was going full retard with my FJ60 and the SOA conversion I had got a set of Rockwell portals that I had contemplated putting in. Because…. I like to make bad decisions

With those, you could change the planetary gears in under an hour and essentially regear the truck

They had several different ratios, and they were fairly easy to acquire

I wonder if 74 weld could do the same and make different ratio planetary gears…. 🤔🤯

Are the red circled bits part of the brake lines?
