Today I got from my friend Marti the welder the 32 gallon water tank that will sit under the car instead of the spare. There is a loop of 1/2" stainless pipe inside to allow 190F hot coolant from the diesel hearer in freezing weather to protect the tank. The hot water has a water-to-water heat exchanger and the cab a water-to-air.

The troopy stock tank sits a bit back from the original spot because of the H151 longer transmission.

Finally got the shocks. Tried to get a set of Icon shocks, but they were horrible in customer service. Never returned my calls with information and finally gave up. I'll need to fabricate a custom bracket for the bottom front.

Some more sound insulation. I’ve probably spent $1500 in avoiding certain sound and then some more to create sound with a nice deck and speakers. 😂

Totally get that! You want to hear what you want to hear.
It's a good investment that will pay big dividends!🎸that

True. But I also love to hear the FT engine so sometimes I’ll have the music off. 😀

Some update. Mostly bad. The better one is that the Fox shocks did not fit and had to pay $600 in restocking fee, even though they made a mistake in the front ones. Accutune...
The worst bad news is that the 1HDT needs to be torn down. I started it the third time and it made some rattle noise and stopped. Apparently the bolt for the cam gear was not tight. I never checked it when the engine came in, so now the damage needs to be assessed. It's going to my friend at Valley Hybrids @orangefj45 Georg. He will pull the engine and install the 1HDFT when I'm done with it. I am torquing every single bolt on this one. It's a real bummer, but no one died.

THE last news on the engine sucks
No one died! It's only time and money. I've been active in 2 wars in the middle east. It does put things in perspective...

It’s a real bummer but we’ll get the replacement engine installed ……. super excited to be part of another AMAZING project for you Ofer!!!!!!

Georg @ Valley Hybrids
I love you Georg. You are family to me.

You do get points for the wagon looking so bad ass, even on a roll back. 👍 Having Georg on the job does tend to give one a warm fuzzy feeling knowing it will be alright.

I totally agree. Stopping there tomorrow morning on the way to OR with our 80 and discuss logistics, hug and chocolate.

So while the troopy is with @orangefj45 I've been working on the 1HDFT engine. My goal is to start it in a few weeks on a stand with coolant and let it run for 10-15 min. Then, take it to Georg and have it swapped with the 1HDT that I managed to damage. Kicking myself every day...

Every bolt torqued and checked and marked.

BEB are in and I ended installing the rear seal and oil pan this morning. I'll build a stand so I can access the rear and install the flywheel, bell housing and starter so I can check compression and later start the engine on it.

Engine on a cart so I can start the flywheel side and maybe crank it in a few days. It's attached to the cart so I can remove it and put a few 2x6s and transport it to @orangefj45. He will do the swap on the troopy. I may go there and help and maybe learn something from the master... :)
