Good old Slim Pickens…
Ha ha, we have a winner. I thought that was just about the funniest line I ever heard the 1st time I heard that. I was a little kid, so words like that were, "not acceptable" in our house...

That entire movie is full of terribly offensive quotes… to folks today. Not back then it was just considered humor.

One of best movies ever!!! Got his autograph before I truly knew who he was. I carry bag of dimes around just in case….

Huge thanks to @Mtntopper and his son Justice for driving over an hour to help install lift. Great people who I’m sure will be looking for a pig in the future after working on the Pig. Swine flu so contagious that you spend a little time under a pig the fever won’t be far behind.

3” Alcan lift installed with pretty good fit. Their bushings didn’t work but Cruiseroutfitters had the remedy with replacement bushings. New shocks are next in order as the old shocks pretty much extended all the way so I’ll gladly take some recommendations.

Steve (@Mtntopper ) had purchased a 55 bumper for his new LV project but it was too wide so he was kinda enough to sell it to me. Gonna recondition it and place it on the front.

Looking good, Jon. Now time to fill up those wheel wells a bit more. That'll also give you a little bit of "rubber overdrive."

Small step backwards today when I chose to replace the strip where all the tailgate window wires connects. Window would go out but wouldn’t go back into tailgate. Used battery and confirmed it did work and got glass back in some and after looking for source of my problem I found one of wires Broken at the area where wires come into tailgate.

Thankfully I’m off tomorrow and will go crawl all over the donor pig and pull some wires,

Wife and I also proceeded to old AC unit (almost) and it got me thinking. Do the aftermarket ac units everyone has been using also have heat?? Do I upgrade the heater to newer unit since I have a new one sitting on shelf?

It appears the duct from the blower to the heater has had some modifications somewhere in its lifetime. Gonna have to fix this probably remove what’s in the donor.

For shocks go with Bilstein or Dobinsons IMS. Both are good options, but the IMS are a step above the Bilstein's IMO.
For those that went with the Bilsteins did you use the 5100's? For my intended use the Dobinsons are probably overkill and I am getting close to the $5000 budget with the new lift, paint, body, 5 speed, etc...

Pretty sure you can get aftermarket with both heat and ac. Check out @J Mack thread on his build. Believe he has 1. 🤔😉
I think some aftermarket options do not allow you to select a fresh air option, it is always recirc. Make sure you check your options before throwing down $$$

Gonna go shortly and do some recon on the donor pig which is in another barn and see what I come up with. I do love the leg room removing the old unit created. With a new heater unit sitting in a box I am inclined to put it to use. When new H55 is in place and the 4 wheel/ front diff controls in the middle of the dash are gone I was thinking of putting AC vents there.

For anyone who has done extensive wiring on the beauties is there a good place to splice the harness from the front going to the tailgate?

5100s give a nice ride
