What is with the blue Aisan sight glass. My carburetor has a clear sight glass, has it been replaced with something else or is it a model year thing?

Someone cleaned the blue off of yours.

That hasn't been cleaned off there is a plate missing. You look at your's you will notice the small holes top and bottom. You don't see them in the one with the blue plate. Seems more than half of these old carbs had the plate removed and never put back. If you rebuild a carb that has the plate don't use carburator cleaner on it. It will remove the paint. If anyone has a plate to sell I've got two or three carburators that could use one:crybaby:

Oh, that's just great!! another hard to find part I have to try and hunt down :frown: does it ever end????????

Thanks for the info John.

Here are the bed parts and pieces I have left.

I tried very hard to cut around everything so pieces and panels could be used by someone in need.

The wheel wells can be reused very easliy.

If you or KellO don not need any of the piece, I plan on dropping it off at Awl_Teq's place next year so he can start making panels for SWB rigs.

Dan,

I need a section of that and 1 good bed floor support.

Today was a good day, I got out in the garage and did some therapy. The PO had installed the OME 2 1/2" lift, then did not like how stiff the ride was, so he removed 2 leafs per side (rear). Since I have had it the
1 1/2" lean to driver side was bugging the crap out of me. I re-installed the shorter of the 2 leafs on the driver side and to my surprise it leveled it out, both sides are the same ride height. Has anyone else had an issue like this?
Before and after.

I got into the dash some more and repainted items the PO painted red or black, grab bar, 4WD lever, re installed the vent cable, lubed vent, freed up the fan (it has 2 speeds again!), painted the vent grill, re installed the vent and heater control panel. Left to do are the ash tray, glove box door, speedo face plate and heater.

I am hot and tired, the pool is calling.

Nice! Its so satisfying and therapeutic to go through these old cruisers and resurrect them one part at a time. Looking awesome!! Its cool how much pride we put into these things.

Hijack warning

:o:o Pardon my intrusion

Really cool... Those parts look very different than the LPB bed. I have tools that will make those ribs in the wheel humps. Three different sizes just like the 40 wheel humps. Trouble is they are not mine and I'd have to ask permission from the owner (Hilltop Cruisers) before using them. The are home made but work pretty good.

I'd love to have those parts if nobody else can use them.

Rockcod - nice work on the SHORTY:p I think riding level is better than that 1-1/2" lean.

After reading Dom's thread......again, I decided to re-drill the spring pads and plates to move the rear axle farther back. It doesn't look like much in the pics, but it did make a big difference.

Since I had a few hours to dedicate to the 45, I also installed my new fuel filter. When I removed the original assembly, I cleaned off the glass bowl and was amazed at all the crap loaded up in the filter bowl. No wonder it would stall when I drove it around the block.

While crawling around under this thing today, I came across these 2 wires (solid green, green with white stripe) coming out of the wire loom along the rear cross member. The solid green wire has dual bullet connector, the green/white stripe has a single bullet connector. Anyone know what they might go to?

You know the filters inside the glass bowl are replaceble right?

When I ordered the filter, I thought that was what I was getting. The whole assembly was pretty cheap, so I just kept it.

Looking around I noticed I am missing 1 sway bar bushing bracket, anyone have a spare:) What is the fascination with the chains? Are these factory or a PO install?

I think the wires in the back are for a trailer hook up option?

They are factory wires and connectors, was trailer wiring an option?

Thanks John. The chains were bugging me, so now it is safe to remove them without any guilt :)
