Last Thursday my 62 got pretty busted up in a collision. For those who don't frequent Chat, I posted a thread discussing it here: https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/you-should-see-the-other-guy.1360564/

Yesterday I've been assessing the damage more, and building a list of parts I'll need to repair it. The suspension and steering components I can easily source (hoping I won't have to replace the steering box due to the angle I was hit and the impact on the steering linkage, but that's still in the air), but body sheet metal is where I'm obviously coming up short. I've found a few pieces on Cruiser Yard and have yet to check Cruiser Parts, but what other sources are there for OEM sheet metal?

What I know I'll need so far, sheet metal wise:
Both front outer fenders
Front left inner fender/wheel well
Core support and cross brace (the horizontal center piece on top); FJ62 specific?
Lower valence (which I understand is FJ62 specific)
Left headlight bucket; FJ62 specific

Also going to be needed, but I'm not anticipating any problems sourcing these (save for cost)
Grill and left headlight trim (hoping @kelly saad has his FJ62 headlight trim finalized by the time I reach this point)
Left turn signal assembly
Left corner light assembly
Front OME heavy leaf springs
Front shocks (shock tower is surprisingly not damaged)
Body mounts & hardware (might go ahead and remove the lift pucks, though they're undamaged, I don't articulate nearly enough to feel the need to leave them in)
Tie rod ends & possibly rods themselves (will remove and check for straightness)
Counting on needing a knuckle rebuild kit (it's been ten years since the last one anyway)

I'm sure there will be other items as I go, but that's what I've gotten so far. If anyone can offer any help with sourcing the parts from the first list, I'd be very grateful.

Classic Cruisers in Poncha Springs

Then you have all of the NOS people selling new parts out of Yemen/KSA, etc.

I'd recommend putting a classifieds ad in the Classifieds section.

A Classified post will definitely be going up once I'm sure which avenue I'll be taking (going to pretty much fall to what the final settlement is). Right now I'm looking into how feasible (financially) this route will be.

If I can get a different car to use for a DD and just long term park the 62 in the garage so I work on it and do all the work RIGHT, I think that will be the best outcome. The 62 has been my DD for the entire 27 years I've owned it, so it needs some serious fixes and cosmetic work along with these repairs if I can even keep it.

Just here to say that I’m really sorry this happened. 27 years is a good long time. I have faith that you’ll get it put back together.

@Spook50 Damn, really sorry to hear this man. I did not see the other thread, but it looks like you're gonna fight through this.

As far as parts go, I will second Classic Cruisers down here on Colorado. They've got lots of stuff and it's not that far from Idaho. @3_puppies Is over in Montana I think and has a lot of odds and ends - maybe he's got body panels too. Start with those and classifieds and see where you get.

Will this be the rebuild thread?

Ultimately, I hope that's what will be. I haven't gotten the first settlement offer yet, so based on that and what the attorney feels is a realistic demand (this firm is well known in the region for being aggressive, but ethical), that'll be the deciding factor.

I expect the most realistic outcome will be I end up in a different vehicle as a DD, the 62 will be totaled out and bought back at scrap value, then garaged for the long term while I can hopefully get a good start on repairs, depending on the size of the settlement.
