With only a 10" chop on mine i was lucky in that i did not have to do body work around the fuel door. Nice to see you making progress again.

thanks baxter, your rig has been a massive inspiration :)
Bob is looking like she will be ready to start putting back together by then end of the week :) paint has been laid down on the inside of the doors and tail gate, she is going to look very sexy :)
doors and front guards got wet sanded today
i wish i could find the embossed toyota emblem like you have as that it one thing i would LOVE to do, maybe down the track, also i need a bonnet scoop cut in, i have the scoop and a donor bonnet, just need to find someone to weld it in for me :)

With the bob rear, the side profile looks a bit like a giant Lada Niva......

Fighting words??

This looks really great perfect colour, , I've got to put the flares back on mine.

but thanks cruiser pilot, i love the colour, its darker then i planned, the only down side to it is i had to go out and buy a chrome grille to suit it, since i blacked out my old one, and the black and the grey just look too dark, but the little bits of chrome really pop now :)

nice work mate, it came out great
it does look good, i can't wait till its cut and polished :)

Update for anyone still looking in here
Took Bob to get engineered yesterday, passed everything except it failed the exhaust noise test, came in with a reading of 96dB but needed to be under 90dB,

so i took it straight from he engineers to the exhaust shop, got them to fit up a hot dog resonator to the rear section of the pip and dropped my exhaust noise down to 88.5dB :)

her is how she looks at the moment,

rear end all finished off, mud flaps mounted up, all i need to do know is make up a rear swing out

also fitted a new radiator while i was going

very nice, scrolling trough from bits to tits is a joy, months of work and then the result is always

Looking good

Soo cool! Info about the rad?
what do you want to know? i don't realy know much about it, except that its all alloy, when i was at the wreckers the other day i spotted it in a HJ60 they were stripping down, had a look at it and as you can tell, it looks near brand new, no rub marks, no mud nothing.

What are the indicators on the front fenders? I like them!
i got them from the local Auto store, i will get the brand of the tomorrow for you

bit of an update for those that still visit my thread

I decided to install some usb ports and bring my old girl into the 21st century, i picked up the active from the original work lamp plug, which as it turns out give me usb power 24/7 :) win!!

the hardest part of this was drilling the hole in my dash

i have since added one on the other side of the glove box too

i had some major issues with the braking system in Bob, to pass blue slip (registration) when the brakes were tested the mechanic had to apply over 1000Nm of pressure pressure to the brake pedal to get it to stop, so i came home pulled the brake assist off and this is what i found

as you can see the back end of my master cylinder has been leaking brake fluid into my assist, so both of those went in the bin, then off to the local 4wd spare parts shop for a duel diaphragm assist, and what a difference that made :)

also failed the noise test for engineering so off to the exhaust shop to add a resonator my original readings were 96db and this dropped it to 88db

after all that it was off to the motor registry to get all the formalities out of the way and empty my wallet to get bob on the road, then straight hop to load her up ready to head off to Tuff Truck Challenge the next day

all loaded up.. wow i miss the extra room, but LOVE the look :)
