I hosed my front axle birfield by hammering it home with a sledge to seat it in the new oil seal. My new oil seals are very aggressive and I had to hit it hard, slightly mushrooming the end of the birfield, making it worthless. All my fault, dumb mistake.

Anyone have a used one sitting on a shelf they would be willing to sell? I would love to put it to use.

I have a passengers side spare, but I’m not sure if it’s for a 60 or late 40 or if there’s a difference between the two. Can you post or PM me the diameter of the joint and outer axle distance out from the joint?

Post up the length.

These are the ones I have. I could measure with calipers this evening if necessary.

I will pull the short driver side axle later today once I get over the grief of my mistake. and all of that well placed grease and torque that needs to be redone.

The FJ60 Birfield should be the same across a number of vehicles. According to Yota Masters, it should be the same across a whole series of vehicles.

10 × 4 × 4 in - 27 spline at the birfield end, 30 spline at the differential end (how you count these I have no idea)
4Runner 1984-1985, Hilux / Pickup 1979-1983, Hilux / Pickup 1984-1985, Land Cruiser FJ40 1969-1984, Land Cruiser FJ60-FJ62 1981-1990

That list is not correct.
I think you need a birf from a 76 to 91. Before that they
The 40s were course 6 spline on the outer axle and were drum brakes as well.

negative the 76-78 birfs are longer and won't work with his current locking hubs
he would need any birf from Jan 1979 thru 1990 from any solid axle Toyota
40, 45, 55, 60, 62 series, 84-85 4 runner, 79-85 mini truck are all the same birf

I have a set out of a 88. If you are still looking.
I think I am good for the moment, appreciate it. Incredibly my homemade dremel repair on the splines works great and everything spins as it should, no leaks at the moment. Thank you!
