55 road trip to all 50 states (6 Viewers)

If I ever get back into old Cruisers, my dream would be a 70 series left-hand drive gas Troopy. That one looks spectacular! One was being built locally with that same roof conversion. The 16" alloys on my old Pig, now with @greenbeast, came off it. Believe the builder moved to Salt Lake City. Second choice would be a 45LV.

I don't want to trash up this fine 55 thread with 70's talk, but the troopy really is a pig's close, close relative. It's so cool to see them next to each other in the photo @sofj45 took of them on the beach. I think a 55 with the 4 doors, or a 45 LV is such a great camping platform. There are some troopies out there that had a custom 3rd door added that really seem perfect.

As an aside, my troopy has close ties to the 55 world. This was Chris Delancy's (@Delancy) truck before I got it and I often refer to it as "Delancy's other pig". I'm sure y'all know the detail and passion he tackled a project with and this 75 was no exception. It was a great platform to inherit from him; he did all the right stuff and heavy lifting to make it a joy to drive. And just like with a pig, it likes (loves?) to rust! I've been wanting to take it to a pig event for ages to honor him and check out all the cool 55's that are out there.

Last few days of “resting” have been long and sleepless 3 days in NYC after a train ride up and back. NYC has been seen and no reason to ever go back. To much goin on for me. Two broadway shows down, Central Park, nyc public library, dinner at Ellen’s stardust diner, some good pizza from some corner shops, and amazingly good Reuben from Katz, Empire State Building, Disney store and time square at midnight. Walked 20 something miles but the best part of all was getting back last night went to move the cruiser this morning from in laws garage not a drop of oil on the ground. Figure did some thing right or it’s out of all fluids.

Nova has been fun, ready to get back on the road. Some really cool history, beautiful country and I finally felt comfortable leaving my car sit somewhere without worry. Onward to the north east and see what we find. @bobm we will be dropping by soonish will get ahold of you in the next few days once we get closer.

27 states down and 7200 miles and it finally happened we have been taking bets on why, why will I get pulled over?

Well dumb**** pulled me over for my center brake light being out. Then proceeded after everything to tell me my vehicle is old enough it doesn’t need a center brake light so he was letting me go with a warning. Of all the reasons I would pull me over or this rig that is not one I would have ever thought about.

Thank you Pennsylvania for the laugh and on we go.

Also asked if we were actually from Hawaii and what we were out doing. The back window isn’t a clue enough. Wasn’t to worried when he flipped his lights on I knew it was gonna happen when he pulled out and followed. Maybe all the writing was blocking the middle light.

Most are decent, but Dick's are everywhere . Got pulled over once in a Snowstorm at 1:45 a.m. because my license plate was covered wit Snow DAH! Kicked it off the plate and said Happy now . Was bored or looking for Drunk drivers . I was working 2nd shift 12 hour day. It happens Nuttin personal. Unless they didn't have probable cause

Last couple days on the road. Camping and sunset in embreeville Pa then off to the Philly zoo as it’s the oldest zoo in the country. Some cool old buildings on the grounds there and nice zoo for the kids. The solitude house is the oldest on the zoo grounds built in 1784
