Back in May I was fortunate to be part of a product testing trip with the 4xOverlandUSA team as we tested the Slinky Long Travel suspension over 600 miles of dirt across southern Utah and Arizona from St George, Utah to Moab just in time to arrive for Cruise Moab.
From my perspective it was a massive success with several trucks running either Stage 1 or Stage 4 Slinky kits and a few other trucks (with prospective customers) running other aftermarket suspensions. The differences between the Slinky kits and other suspensions was quickly apparent. Every day after a number of miles the non-slinky equipped trucks all had severe shock fade and essentially zero dampening. This left them bouncing down the roads on their bumpstops till we got to camp. The Slinky kits showed no signs of fade or decrease in performance. I have the Stage4 kit on my 80 and it has completely changed how my 80 drives. I can travel faster and the ride is awesome and I'm not worn out at the end of a long day. It's been the best mod I've done to my truck.
Here's a bunch of photos from the trip. Rumor is that this will be an annual occurance so if you want to be a part of the next one, keep your eyes open for info.
