One of my favorite places was the Salmon Glacier outside of Hyder, AK and Stewart, BC. This involves 4 border crossings between AK and BC.

I mentioned the Canol Road. I did this road during my adventure in 2021. It was a favorite then, and it was again this trip (I did it twice this year). The colors were just starting to turn. It was stunning in 2021, and not too shabby this trip.

Very cool! I hope I can make it up there sometime!

A few stories. I met people on this adventure. That included two folks that were cycling.

One fella was from Japan. His English was minimal. Since I ride, I was very envious of his adventure. I had pulled off the Dempster to make camp. The spot was large enough for several vehicles, and I did end up sharing it with a motorhome. Anyway, the fella from Japan wanted to know if he could share this camp spot (he came in before the camper). Of course he could. I gave him my Starlink info, and he responded with a huge grin "Internet?" I told him to phone home. I think he did.

The second cyclist was French Canadian. He also spoke little English. I met him on the road out of Stewart, BC. I had pulled off to dump trash at a rest stop. We got to "talking." He had cycled from Quebec on the Trans-Canada Hwy, gone up the Dempster, across to Alaska, done Denali, and rode up to the Salmon Glacier. This fella had his bike plastered with decal badges of his accomplishments. Tuk, Arctic Ocean, Dempster, Denali NP, Alaska Hwy, Trans-Canada, and more that I don't remember. This guy was very proud of what he had done as he showed off the badges. Again, I was very envious.

There were three other international travelers I also met.

One couple was from Germany. They were in a 2004 Hilux diesel (looked like a Gen1 Tacoma). We had a great chat about the mosquitoes.

I ended up twice sharing a camp spot with folks from Switzerland. I think one was in a rental cab-over camper. I didn't talk with them at all. The second were in a Maltec converted 100-series with a H-series diesel and 5 speed. Sorry, I thought I took pictures of the Maltec, but it looks like I didn't. Here is the Hilux. Both had their trucks boat-shipped over.

Two videos. Of course I didn't remember I had the GoPro in the truck. Here is the crossing at the Maclaren River. I wish I had it running for a few other things. When I was at Overland Expo I wandered by the GoPro booth and had a chat with the folks over there. They asked me how I like the camera, and I told them I hated it. I probably should not have said that, but hey, @lurch will back me up. Anyway, they said bring it by, so I did. They did some voodoo with the camera, and the app on my phone ... and schazam, it worked dandy this trip.

I only used my GoPro for a couple trips and it stopped reading cards. It occasionally works, then suddenly doesn't with the same card. Recently, I bought an Insta 360 Ace Pro 2, and the video quality is amazing. Hopefully it lasts longer than the gopro.
