Too far north. Too far east.
I'm still up here, and won't be home for awhile. I thought I would toss out a tease until I get home.

Bucket List:

1. See the Northern Lights!!!!!! Realistically, this is bucket list boxes 1-100.✅
2. Dip my toes in the Arctic Ocean. Bucket list boxes 101-150.✅
3. See the Salmon Glacier. ✅
4. Get lunch at The Bus in Hyder, AK.✅
5. Visit Chicken, AK. Just because it's called Chicken.✅
6. Photograph, some how, Denali Peak. May the clouds part, please..✅

Awesome trip! I wanted to hear all about it.

Lovely. Alaska dreamin over here.

How long have you been gone?
I left home July 26th. I'm still in BC for a few more nights. Province is gigantic and takes forever to get anyplace.

Plenty of pics online already. Get two orders. Wish I had.

I did not expect to be out for 52 nights. Two nights were at the Williams, so 50 nights in the Dirtbox. The short story is I was on my way home, camping just outside of Prince George, BC. I was talking with a friend (Linda), and she asked what the Aurora forecast was for the next few days. Well, the potential was extremely high two-three days from now. I was ordered to turn my butt back around and get north. I did. One of my favorite roads was the Canol (Canada Oil). On that road was a lake. The camp spot was at the south end, so I would be looking north for the Aurora. Sounded good. Nope, it was stunning. I went a little snap happy.

The only worthwhile cellphone pic. This is what got me out of the tent at 10:30. The rest are DSLR.

Before I left I had contacted a fella here on MUD (@coldtaco, Stephan and Joyce) who live in Anchorage. I wanted to know if he had any good suggestions for places to go. He did, and recommended Valdez Creek road off the Old Denali Highway. The Old Denali Hwy was already on my radar. A few weeks before I left, he contacted me to see if I would like company. Oh hell ya. We met on the west end of the highway after I spent 3 nights in Denali NP. We did the Valdez Creek road to Roosevelt Lake. From there we went east to the Maclaren River lodge for lunch. After that we took a road up the Maclaren River. Stephan's story is he wanted to do this road before, but a high river crossing was involved. He came prepared with waders and crossed on foot to check for depth. No problem.

Oh, that's an HJ75.
